Job description

ENSCO Rail, Inc. is seeking a Junior Technician to join our team for railroad track inspection operations. This role involves the use of measurement tools, electronics troubleshooting, and computer operation. Key responsibilities include interpreting railroad documents to derive train speed information, reviewing and analyzing track measurement data for reporting, and operating hi-rail commercial motor vehicles. Additionally, the position involves vehicle maintenance for rail survey cars and hi-rail vehicles, along with regular housekeeping duties for safety and sanitation aboard survey vehicles. This position is based at ENSCO's customer sites and requires the incumbent to routinely travel to and work on-board railroad track inspection vehicles and maintain a professional demeanor as a representative of ENSCO.

Work schedule - 3 weeks of continuous travel, followed by 1 week off.

Live anywhere in the U.S. We fly you to work sites. We pay for flights, hotels, plus per diem.

Qualifications Required

  • This position requires the successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation. Qualified applicants must have resided in the United States for at least three (3) of the past five (5) years for this requirement.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in the electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical field involving troubleshooting and problem resolution, or a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with 1 year of experience.
  • Experience with workplace safety programs.
  • Proficiency with computer applications such as MS Word; Excel; PowerPoint; and Outlook.
  • Experience reading electrical or electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience conducting equipment/machinery inspections (periodic maintenance inspections, preventive maintenance) and equipment upkeep.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Operating System; transferring files on a network, copying, and pasting.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with tape measure and similar measuring tools.
  • Functional knowledge of mathematics and fraction measurements.
  • Valid Driver's License and able to complete a Department of Transportation medical examination to acquire a Commercial Driver Medical Certification.
  • Must be able to travel independently for business purposes, including but not limited to booking independent vehicle rental and hotel accommodations.
  • Experience reading electrical or electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.
