Junior Accountant
Location: Houston, TX (106 Vintage Park Blvd., Suite 100)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM | Fulltime
Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour, based on experience

WhiteWater Express is a growing, multi-location company built on respect, communication, and developing great people. We're looking for a detail-oriented Revenue Accountant to support revenue reporting, reconciliations, accounts receivable, and month-end close activities.
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Revenue Accountant to join our finance team. This role is responsible for revenue accounting, cash and bank reconciliations, accounts receivable activities, and partnering closely with operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting while supporting the annual audit process.
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Reconciliation
  • Import and reconcile daily revenue from multiple point-of-sale systems
  • Weekly reconciliation of revenue across multiple point-of-sale MSAs
  • Research sales items, maintain general ledger mappings, and partner with IT and Marketing to ensure accurate revenue classification
  • Month end revenue reconciliation to meet month end reporting deadlines
  • Monitor daily membership revenue reporting and coordinate with IT to resolve missing revenue data across assigned locations

Bank Reconciliation
  • Weekly bank reconciliation of assigned locations to ensure credit card and cash transactions have cleared correctly
  • Daily upload of account balances to accounting system
  • Daily upload of chargeback disputes to accounting system
  • Research and resolve reconciliation discrepancies in a timely manner
  • Partner with the Accounts Payable team to reconcile utility ACH transactions and other bank activity
  • Review monthly credit card statements and related bank activity

Pay Station and Cash Reconciliation
  • Perform mid-month and month-end cash reconciliations
  • Reconcile petty cash accounts and ensure supporting receipts are properly submitted and recorded
  • Lead cash handling workshops with operations teams on company cash handling procedures and safety controls

Month End
  • Assist with month end reconciliation such as revenue and bank reconciliations
  • Assist with deferred revenue entries
  • Assist with accruals
  • Assist with inputting key operational metrics into accounting systems for management reporting and KPI tracking
  • Assist with analyzing revenue trends and identifying potential loss prevention opportunities or unfavorable KPI trends

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or reconciliation experience
  • Experience with multi-location retail bank reconciliations
  • Experience with general ledger and bank account reconciliations
  • Understanding of accrual-based accounting principles
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
  • Experience with ERP or accounting systems such as Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Experience in a retail, service, or multi-location business environment
  • Revenue accounting or cash management experience
