Job description

The NOV Global Security analyst will be part of a team ensuring the continuity of NOV's global operations and safety of their global workforce. This is a temporary assignment for a junior analyst, who will be responsible for several tasks which include intelligence risk analysis, physical security monitoring, travel risk monitoring, and general analytical tasks. The Global Security analyst reports directly to the Director of Security. 

Work Type: Full-time Temporary, entry-level 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Gathers information from multiple open-source intelligence sites using a variety of web-based tools to form risk assessments.
  • Communicating to a wide audience complex ideas and thoughts either through written means or verbally.
  • Monitoring NOV's assets.
  • Briefing senior company managers on emerging world threats and events.
  • Assisting the Director of Security in providing threat assessment and risk analysis.
  • Provide support for various security operations, intelligence/analytics, crisis response and business resilience areas.

Additional Job Functions:

  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Provide back-up operator support and on-call function as needed.
  • Shift work will be required. Candidates must be able to work a flexible schedule on a variety of shifts.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree required (Political Science, International Relations, Global/International Studies, or History) 
  • Preferred experience in doing intelligence analysis for the military, federal government, or corporation. Candidates must demonstrate knowledge and experience in this requirement. Education in lieu of experience will also be considered on a case-by-case basis. 
  • Strong computer skills are necessary. Must present a proven ability using a variety of database management tools, software, hardware, security access, and alarm monitoring software and/or business intelligence applications. Presenting familiarity of Crisis 24 mapping tool, mass communication tools, ArcGIS, Esri, or other GIS tools is a plus.
  • Must have effective time management, communication, technical writing, presentation development, and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management.
  • Must have demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Must be flexible and possess the ability to function in stressful situations.
  • Must be a self-starter who takes initiative to accomplish the task at hand.
  • A dependable team player with business maturity, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
