Overview
DarkStar Intelligence is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Watchlisting Analyst to support a critical national security mission. This on-site position in Reston, VA directly supports the Intelligence Community by identifying, analyzing, and documenting information related to known or suspected terrorists (KSTs) for inclusion in national watchlisting systems.
The selected candidate will conduct structured data reviews, perform multi-source intelligence research, and prepare nomination packages in accordance with government watchlisting standards. This role is ideal for analysts who possess strong research skills, attention to detail, and familiarity with Intelligence Community counterterrorism missions.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct structured reviews of Department of Defense (DoD) datasets likely to contain identifying information on known or suspected terrorists (KSTs).
  • Extract and document relevant intelligence in accordance with established Government guidelines and prioritization protocols.
  • Perform cross-checks and in-depth research across multiple intelligence holdings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and elimination of duplicate records.
  • Prepare nomination reports in accordance with Government templates, ensuring proper classification, formatting, routing, and adherence to writing standards.
  • Consistently meet established production and quality standards for Terrorist Identity Nominations (TINs).
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts involved in watchlisting processes, as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with Intelligence Community (IC) agencies and their roles in counterterrorism analysis, reporting, and operations.
  • Navigate and utilize DoD intelligence databases effectively while maintaining compliance with national watchlisting policies and procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of global terrorist organizations including nomenclature, areas of operation, leadership structures, known activities, and ideological drivers.

Requirements
  • Experience conducting structured analytical reviews of intelligence datasets or related records.
  • Ability to conduct multi-source research and data validation across classified intelligence systems.
  • Experience preparing written analytical products in accordance with government formatting and classification standards.
  • Familiarity with Intelligence Community counterterrorism missions and watchlisting processes.

Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph preferred
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 3+ years of relevant intelligence or analytical experience
OR
Additional relevant experience may substitute for a degree, subject to waiver approval.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience supporting watchlisting, identity intelligence, or counterterrorism analysis missions.
  • Familiarity with Terrorist Identity Nomination (TIN) processes or similar reporting workflows.
  • Experience working with DoD or Intelligence Community databases and analytical tools.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000. This pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of specific compensation or salary.
