Junior Financial Analyst

Position Summary

The Junior Financial Analyst will support DOI financial operations, funds management, reimbursable agreements, purchase requisitions, invoice processing, aviation-use reporting, and financial record maintenance. The position requires careful handling of numerical information, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage time-sensitive financial transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of G-Invoicing orders, 7600B agreements, reimbursable agreements, and related financial records.
  • Enter and maintain agreement and financial information in the Customer Agreement System, FBMS, and other Government systems.
  • Track obligations, billings, collections, balances, and agreement expenditures to prevent over-obligation or overspending.
  • Prepare routine financial reports, spreadsheets, reconciliations, and status updates.
  • Receive, log, review, and track flight-request orders, purchase requisitions, invoices, aviation-use reports, receipts, and supporting documentation.
  • Review financial documents for accuracy, completeness, proper coding, and compliance with established procedures.
  • Identify missing or inconsistent information and coordinate corrections with Government personnel, vendors, or Bureau customers.
  • Track undelivered-order balances and assist with de-obligation requests.
  • Support invoice processing, Service Entry Sheet preparation, document filing, and transaction tracking.
  • Maintain accurate and current financial files and provide responsive status information to stakeholders.
  • Assist in identifying recurring processing issues and recommending practical improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least three years of relevant financial analysis, accounting support, funds management, invoicing, or business operations experience.
  • Experience reviewing numerical and financial data for accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, email, and spreadsheet-based reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, customer service, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn Government financial systems and processes quickly.
  • Ability to obtain the required DOI suitability determination and credential.
