Description

Are you passionate about helping young children build strong social-emotional skills? Do you enjoy being part of a team that makes a lasting difference in children's lives? If so, we'd love to have you on our team as a Behavioral Health Assistant!

In this role, you'll be a key part of the classroom environment-supporting children, collaborating with staff, and helping create a positive, nurturing space where every child can learn and thrive.


What You'll Do
  • Support children's social-emotional development by using Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) techniques.
  • Plan and lead PBIS-based activities that help children learn skills like emotional regulation, problem-solving, and positive interactions.
  • Provide one-on-one behavioral support to children displaying challenging behaviors.
  • Collaborate with classroom staff to develop and implement individualized behavior plans.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings to review progress and identify new strategies to support children's success.
  • Attend PBIS staff meetings, trainings, and monthly team meetings.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding children and families.
  • Keep PBIS materials and equipment organized and inventoried.
  • Communicate regularly with the Mental Health Manager.
  • Serve as a positive advocate for Head Start in the community.
