General Qualifications:

The Camp Service Worker is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work, stewardship, relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association, Inc.’s (“MHA”) Christian mission, vision, beliefs, culture code and standards of conduct. They are responsible for defining, cultivating and leading MHA’s Christian community, conference programs and retreats. All staff are expected to join gatherings which include prayer, worship, and Bible-centered teaching.

Position Objective:

As a Camp Service Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive experience for all guests and participants at Mount Hermon Conference Center. This multifaceted position requires open availability and the willingness to work across various departments, including but not limited to Facilities, Accommodations, Guest Services, Food Services, Retail, Adventures, and Registration. Your work will reflect the mission, vision, and beliefs of Mount Hermon, serving as a testament to your faith and commitment to our Christian community.

Key Job Accountabilities:
  • Accommodations: Support the preparation and cleaning of guest accommodation, ensuring they meet high standards of cleanliness and comfort.
  • Guest Services: Provide excellent customer service, addressing guest inquiries, and ensuring a positive experience for all visitors.
  • Food Services: Assist in food preparation, service, and cleanup, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Retail: Support retail operations, including stocking, sales, barista, and customer assistance.
  • Registration: Support the registration process for guests, maintaining accurate records and providing efficient service.
 
  • Adventures: Provide customer service to the fieldhouse gym, and may be selected to be an Adventure Guide responsible for delivering physically and emotionally engaging adventure tours on our aerial adventure courses while demonstrating excellent customer service by acting with a “guest comes first” attitude.
  • Facilities: Assisting the Facilities crew in preparation of facilities for camps and conferences to serve the needs of our campers and guest groups.
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:

  • The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
  • Requires sitting, standing, squatting, stooping, twisting, and the ability to lift/carry 40+ lbs.
  • Requires the ability to work in a physically strenuous environment.
  • If selected to work in the Adventure Guide role, must be comfortable at heights exceeding 80. After training, employee must be able to rescue a 250 lb. person at heights using a variety of rescue techniques.

  • Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
  • Satisfactory completion of background investigation, or valid work permit, as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work in various roles and departments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to produce documentation of a current and valid driver’s license and a clean DMV record.
