The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria seeks an academic psychiatrist with interest and enthusiasm for teaching residents and medical students. Position Summary
The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria seeks an academic psychiatrist with interest and enthusiasm for teaching residents and medical students. This full-time faculty position is at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. Candidates should share our commitment to high-quality patient care, scholarship, education, and community service.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervision and teaching of general psychiatry residents and medical students
  • Function as a University faculty member, performing such duties as are appropriate to academic rank and position
  • Direct patient care
  • Involvement in meeting ACGME and LCME training guidelines, requirements, and policies
Minimum Qualifications
  • MD or DO graduate of an LCME/AACOM-accredited medical school
  • Graduate of an ACGME-approved psychiatry residency
  • Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Illinois
  • ABPN board-certified or eligible in adult psychiatry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in inpatient and outpatient psychiatry
  • Experience in the administration of and contribution to educational programs
