Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Technical Project Manager Jr. Primary Functions: Responsible for supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of IT projects that align with the credit union’s strategic and operational goals. This role works under guidance from senior project managers or leadership to assist in delivering technology solutions on time and within scope while gaining experience in project management best practices.


Responsibilities
  • Assist in coordinating IT projects from initiation through completion, including system enhancements, application updates, audit remediations, and infrastructure-related efforts.
  • Support project managers and team leads in developing project plans, timelines, and tracking deliverables.
  • Help gather and document business and technical requirements under guidance from stakeholders and senior team members.
  • Track project progress, update status reports, and escalate risks or issues to project leadership as needed.
  • Facilitate basic communication between internal teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure alignment on tasks and deliverables.
  • Maintain project documentation including meeting notes, action items, and project artifacts.
  • Assist with resource coordination and scheduling activities.
  • Support adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and compliance requirements related to IT projects.
  • Participate in project meetings, workshops, and team initiatives to gain exposure to project lifecycle management.
  • Contribute to process improvements and adoption of project management tools and best practices as directed.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities.   • Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years equivalent experience for each undergraduate year not completed, undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of experience inProject Management, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field is required.
  • Agile or Professional project management certification/designation preferred.
  • Project management coursework or certification (CAPM, Agile fundamentals) preferred.
  • Minimum 1 years experience supporting projects, internships, or relevant work experience is required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in IT, operations, or related field is required.
  • Work history in a Credit Union or financial institution is preferred.
