## Regional Director of ProgrammingApplylocations: Charleston, South Carolinatime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR-00386434 Broad Street, Charleston, South Carolina 29401# Job DescriptionThe Regional Director of Programming shall support the development and implementation of meaningful activity and life enrichment programs for the company, including Independent Living (IL), Assisted Living (AL), and Memory Care (MC). The programs must embrace and fulfill the needs, as well as varied interests of the residents while promoting or enhancing physical and psychosocial wellbeing. Design of the programs will include social, sensory, physical, cognitive, reflective, nature, spiritual, activities and outings.* The Regional Director of Programming shall support volunteer recruitment efforts to create a robust volunteer program throughout the community.* The Regional Director of Programming shall train and support Community Life Enrichment Directors.* The Regional Director of Programming will serve as support and monitoring of programs, customer service and recreational programs in each community.* The Regional Programming Specialist will maintain strong professional interactions with the Regional Director of Operations, the Executive Directors, Dining and Community Life Enrichment Directors.* The Regional Director of Programming will also provide support for the overall evaluation and monitoring of all community programs and focus on the overall customer service provided by the activity programs and individual communities.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Resident Programs:Supports the plans developed for each community for an effective resident program including a variety of leisure and educational opportunities and activities for participation of residents of all ages, interests and physical limitations.* Attends resident association meetings and works with committees of residents in an advisory and supportive capacity to identify resident and program needs* Provides a link between corporate office and community life enrichment directors* Evaluates a monthly program of activities for all levels of care (i.e., IL, AL and MC) per Harmony Senior Services guidelines* Periodically reviews the Resident Life Profile/Life Story* Consult regularly with families regarding the communities activities programs* Maintains expenses within budgeted guidelines* Ensures activities area and supplies are in a neat and orderly fashion* Provides training and acts as a resource to community staff on the importance of life enrichment, customer service and other areas regarding the quality of life for residents* Supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for residents, resident’s families, visitors, and staff* Develops and monitors a coordinated company activities program* Evaluates individual communities activities programs by need based on residents, region, age of building and other pertinent factors* Works closely with dining services to ensure activities and dining programs are working together to provide an overall activity experience* Assists with the monitoring and evaluation of the company “Reflections” program* Works closely with Marketing team to effectively promote and brand community programs and collatoralsMonthly Activity Calendar:Review, observe and inspect daily activity programs in compliance with Harmony Senior Services standards and follow state specific required guidelines for activity programming to ensure Community LED:* Communicates program schedules and activities through facility newsletters, bulletin boards, activity events, etc.* Evaluates and monitors resident transportation to groceries, doctors, shopping, leisure activities and other resident activities* Evaluates and monitors regular programs such as resident birthday recognitions, maintaining resident directories and birthday lists* Conducts programs as outlined in the calendar* Monitors facility activities for group and individual participation* Maintains and stores supplies required for various activitiesVolunteer Program:Provides support and assistance to develop volunteer opportunities.* Assists with recruiting volunteers and community volunteer organizations to provide programs and activities for residents; Trains and recognizes volunteers* Assists with community public relations as needed* Develops avenues for volunteers to work with residents in the facility* Provides opportunities for residents to volunteer* Serves as liaison in the coordination of student interns as neededRequirements:* Qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional who is eligible for certification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional by a recognized accrediting body, such as the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification or the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals; or has two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years, one year of which was full-time in a long-term care setting providing programs for seniors with Alzheimer’s and other related Dementia* Be a Certified Dementia Practitioner or Eligible for Certification* Maintain applicable state requirements of dementia specific training* High level of ability in effective and succinct communication, written and oral with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public* Must have compassion for and desire to work with the senior population* Must be a self-starter and demonstrate the ability to work responsibly &*independently* as well as a team player* Must be honest, fair, dependable, respect confidentiality and the rights and privacy of others* Must have experience in planning, organizing and executing a varied schedule of life enrichment opportunities for all levels of seniors from those who are very active to those with cognitive impairments resulting from Alzheimer’s and related dementias; Must have exceptional organizational skills* Ability to establish effective relationships with residents, family members and staff* Ability to supervise team members and set up and train volunteers* Ability to represent the company in a positive and professional manner* Requires current First Aid and CPR certification or eligibility to obtain within 60 days of hire* Must have valid driver’s license and a good driving record* Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends and holidays* Agree to extensive travel to various communities and home offices in the company spectrum #J-18808-Ljbffr
