JPJ Electronic Communications, Inc. is proud to support the NY State Police, NYS DOT (Department of Transportation),  NYS DOCCS (Department of Corrections), NYSEG, and other local agencies with reliable communications solutions. We install and maintain mission-critical radio systems that keep communities connected and safe.
 
 
Your Responsibilities at the State Police:
 Install, remove, and troubleshoot communication and safety equipment in vehicles.
Install Two-Way radios in vehicles.  Mount the radio chassis in the trunk and the radio head in the front.  Run power and data cables from the radio chassis to the radio head, wiring up the power, and installing the antenna in the roof of the vehicle.  Install additional electronic equipment in the vehicle as directed. 
 Every make and model of vehicle requires a different install procedure that needs to be followed so that every model vehicle in a department is built the same.  Neatness and attention to detail is essential.
 JPJ also installs light bars, full lighting packages, push bumpers, consoles, cages and partitions, License Plate Readers and other assorted electronics in Police vehicles, ambulances, buses, motorcycles, snowmobiles, boats and trains.
 
 Location:
You will predominantly work at the New York State Police garage in Middletown and occasionally at NYSEG locations and the Department of Corrections Facilities in the region.
 On occasion an opportunity to travel and stay out of town will be available and if you wish to participate, a company vehicle and all expenses will be provided. 
 
 Requirements:
  • Experience in vehicle mechanics and wiring.
  • Mechanic’s tool set.
  • Neat work standards.
  • Valid NYS driver’s license.
Position is contingent upon passing a background check and a drug test as you will be working directly with the NY State Police inside a NYSP headquarters facility
 
 Pay will be negotiated based on experience.
