With over 400 pediatricians and pediatric subspecialties, our department is one of the largest in the Stanford University School of Medicine. The Division of Pulmonary, Asthma and Sleep Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine/Stanford Medicine Children's Health is recruiting a Clinician Educator as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor. The major criterion for appointment as Clinician Educators is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, administrative and/or scholarship appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill.

Academic rank and line will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

The successful candidate will possess expertise in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine. Engaging in research activities, across the full range of Stanford University, is highly encouraged. Teaching of medical students, residents and fellows will be an important component of the position.

This position will be located primarily at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, CA. The successful candidate will provide in- patient and out-patient clinical care in several community hospitals and clinics across the greater east and north bay area locations. The clinical teams serve a diverse patient population, with a broad range of pulmonary conditions. The successful candidate will participate in the didactics of medical students, residents and fellows. Contributing to research, quality improvement and program development is strongly encouraged. This position is part of the larger, cohesive group of Pediatric Pulmonologists at Stanford University and Stanford Children's Health.

To be successful in this position, you will bring:

An MD/DO degree and Board Certification in Pediatrics, and either Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine and a California Medical License by the time of hire. Additional Board Certification in Sleep Medicine is a plus. It is expected that candidates are outstanding clinicians with dedication to teaching and mentoring trainees. Priority will be given to candidates who specialize in cystic fibrosis, chronic lung disease, or sleep medicine.

The expected base pay range for this position is:

Clinical Assistant Professor: $231,000 - $245,000
Clinical Associate Professor: $267,000 - $279,000
Clinical Professor: $322,000 - $352,000

This pay range reflects base pay, which is based on faculty rank and years in rank. It does not include all components of the School of Medicine's faculty compensation program or pay from participation in departmental incentive compensation programs. Stanford University has provided a pay range representing its good faith estimate of what the university
