Position Summary
We are seeking a Planner to work out of our Milwaukee Service Center. The Planner will develop, organize, and control the manufacturing processes for parts, components, and repairs related to steam turbines and generator equipment. They will provide the shop with comprehensive work instructions to follow from start to finish for each part or process.
Essential Duties
  • Develop work instructions, BOMs, and associated documents for manufacture of parts processed at the Milwaukee Service Center.
  • Work with programmers, manufacturing engineers, and shop supervision in defining optimal processes, tooling, and fixturing for manufacture of new parts.
  • Develop inspection methods and repair methods for steam turbine and generator service projects.
  • Interface between the shop and engineering department on technical issues associated with repairs of steam turbine and generator equipment.
  • Be a team leader in process improvement efforts throughout the organization.
  • Support the tracking of parts, project schedule, and process's though the shop in support of project managers, master scheduler, and shop managers
  • Update routings and work instructions based on shop feedback, improvement projects and shop actuals to support continuous improvement.
  • Support shop operators and ME's in trouble shooting issue, tooling needs, and setup drawings.
  • Support in training of new planners, engineers, and operators on current processes and methods.

Education and Required Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 5+ year experience preferred in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency utilizing manufacturing systems preferable Oracle EBS system.
  • Experience with ME systems for making routings and detailed work instructions is preferred.

  • Capable of operating a PC system in a network environment.
  • Previous experience working with or around CNC machines is preferred.
  • Experience in a service environment preferred.
  • AutoCAD experience is preferred or will need to be learned
  • Proficient with MS Office- Outlook. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project
  • Able to communicate and work with shop management and project managers to incorporate specific engineering and customer requirements into the production process.
  • Must be a team leader capable of leading the team to a common goal/objective

The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision and Ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
The majority of this work takes place in an office and the work environment is that of a typical office environment in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are usually moderate. Frequently the employee will interact with personnel in the plant where he/she may be exposed to higher noise levels.
