We are looking for a Planner II to join a growing client in Milwaukee, WI in a contract capacity with the potential for a permanent role. This role supports daily production and inventory planning activities by coordinating with purchasing, manufacturing, distribution, shipping, and engineering partners to keep materials and orders moving efficiently. The position is well suited for someone who can balance stocked products with custom-built requirements while providing clear updates on timing, availability, and order status.
Responsibilities:
• Review daily planning worksheets and prioritize actions needed to support production and order fulfillment.
• Evaluate sales orders alongside current inventory positions to determine material availability and scheduling needs.
• Release production orders to the manufacturing floor when demand falls within the appropriate planning window.
• Partner with buyers, procurement, manufacturing, distribution center, shipping, and engineering teams to align supply and production activities.
• Respond to questions regarding lead times, product availability, and expected shipment timing.
• Communicate updated ship dates and order status information to internal stakeholders throughout the day.
• Manage planning support for both standard stocked items and engineered-to-order products within the same order flow.
• Maintain item master data by adjusting planning parameters and supporting ongoing item record accuracy.
• Experience in supply chain planning, production planning, or a related materials management role.
• Working knowledge of inventory analysis, order review, and production scheduling processes.
• Ability to coordinate effectively across purchasing, manufacturing, logistics, and engineering functions.
• Familiarity with stock-based replenishment models as well as custom or engineered order environments.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, including experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
• Understanding of bills of materials, production orders, and material flow within a manufacturing setting.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to provide timely updates on lead times and shipment schedules.
