Job description

The Program Representative – USS JIMMY CARTER Modernization will provide support to the Program Manager - Modernization (D684) and Program Manager – Special Projects (D419) for the planning for and execution of modernization work on USS JIMMY CARTER during the FY27 EDSRA.

The role requires routine interaction with the Alteration Installation Team (AIT) Lead, Operations Lead, Program Manager(s), Site Manager, government sponsor and oversight activities, and other EB support departments.

The Program Rep – USS JIMMY CARTER Modernization will be the primary Groton based point of contact for the Bremerton WA installation team and will lead problem resolution efforts, expedite material (as required), communicate project status, and support other project needs as required.

  • Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Travel to Bremerton WA is required.
  • Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance or higher

Strong communication skills are required. Candidate must be proficient in use of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.  Microsoft Project proficiency is desirable. 


Required:

  • High School diploma / GED or equivalent 
  • 2+ years Project Management experience 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Engineering or higher 
  • Experience working in Naval Shipyard and/or Intermediate Maintenance Facility (IMF) environment desired.
  • Alteration Installation Team (AIT) experience and familiarity with NAVSEA TS9090-310 desired.
  • Knowledge of SSN 023 MMP section desired.

  • The candidate is comfortable with change and able to adapt to the changing environment.
  • The candidate must possess strong analytical, causal analysis, communication, organizational, planning, and writing skills under minimal supervision.
  • The candidate must demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasking.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills are required
