Job Description:Seeking a senior-level GitLab Administrator to own, optimize, and scale a self-managed enterprise GitLab environment supporting hundreds of users across the organization. This role will serve as the primary GitLab subject matter expert, driving platform governance, automation, security, performance, and strategic improvements.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain a self-managed GitLab environment at enterprise scale.
  • Design and manage reusable CI/CD pipeline templates and standards.
  • Manage GitLab runners, including Kubernetes-based runners and enterprise runner strategy.
  • Implement and maintain authentication, SSO, LDAP, and access control models.
  • Manage GitLab infrastructure and configuration using Terraform.
  • Optimize platform performance, scalability, disaster recovery, and high availability.
  • Integrate GitLab with tools such as JFrog, Vault, security scanners, and Kubernetes platforms.
  • Establish governance standards for repositories, permissions, and deployment practices.
  • Evaluate current platform architecture and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and technical stakeholders on platform direction.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 7–10 years of relevant experience.
  • Deep experience administering self-managed GitLab environments.
  • Experience standing up and scaling GitLab for hundreds of enterprise users.
  • Strong CI/CD pipeline architecture experience.
  • Expertise with GitLab Runner administration and optimization.
  • Experience with SAML, SSO, LDAP, and enterprise access controls.
  • Advanced Terraform experience, including infrastructure-as-code management.
  • Experience with upgrades, backups, disaster recovery, performance tuning, and platform governance.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with executive stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • FedRAMP, IL5, NIST 800-53, or regulated environment experience.
  • GitLab Geo administration and replication experience.
  • Container Registry and Package Registry administration.
  • GitLab migration and major version upgrade experience.
  • Experience with Kubernetes/EKS integrations.
  • Experience with JFrog, Vault, Wiz, and related DevSecOps tooling.
  • GitLab certifications.
