The Security Employee Screener manages access control and provisioning for all airport staff who enter the different employee access points for ERMC clients at the terminal and ensures the staff has proper authorization and access to the SIDA area.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain constant visibility, vigilant awareness, and alertness throughout the shift.
  • Must operate an X-ray machine, a walk-through-metal detector, and a hand-held metal detector.
  • Write clear and concise reports.
  • Verify proper identification before granting access to the building.
  • Must be able to screen employees and their belongings and resolve all alarms before authorizing access.
  • Document any inquiries, incidents, or findings in security.
  • Report any criminal or suspicious activities related to the Company's property, personnel, or operations.
  • Inform the management team of any emergency or security incident to take the necessary measures to resolve the situation.
  • Take charge of emergencies and report them accurately to the security screening supervisor.
  • Keep track of the keys, radios, and other equipment inventory.
  • Complete any additional security-related tasks as required.
  • Comply with all TSA and Port Authority Policies and Procedures.
Basic Qualifications
Pre-requisites:
• Must be a local (in-state) resident.
• Valid US/State ID
• Must have a valid NYS Licensed Security Guard
• Successfully pass preemployment screening and background check.
• You must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have authorization to work in the United States.
• Must complete SIDA and Security Guard training as needed to obtain PANYNJ.
Schedule -
  • Mandatory shift: Wednesday 12am - 6am
  • Must be able to work 2 - 5 days per week for any of the following shifts: 2am - 6am, 8am - 2pm OR 4pm - 10pm

Experience:
• Being open and willing to collaborate with a detail-oriented team is necessary.
Airport security or employee screening experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Excellent customer service skills.
• A strong work ethic is a must.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Maintaining strict confidentiality is essential.
N.B.: Must be fluent in speaking and writing English.
Preferred Qualifications
Education: Must be High School Graduate or have General Education Degree (GED)
