Floor Janitor
JBS is seeking an hourly Floor Janitor 1st Shift Team Member! Position starts at $18 per hour.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • To clean and sanitize machinery and floors in a production line setting
  • Responsible for all basic cleaning in and around assigned area
  • Set up, stocks, and maintains cleaning equipment and supplies
  • Monitor and maintain sanitation and organization of assigned areas
  • Operate heavy equipment
  • Stay aware of your surroundings and notify a supervisor if you recognize a hazard
  • Perform other duties as needed or as assigned

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingual (Spanish) preferred
  • Must be well-organized with good attention to detail
  • Display strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Adaptable and dependable with ability to follow direction and work cooperation with others
  • Must maintain a helpful and professional attitude and appearance
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, but uninvolved, instructions and to deal with problems involving a few different variables.
  • Strong desire to work hands-on work environment
  • Good attendance and safety records
  • Must be 18 years of age or older

Work Environment
  • Must be able to work in a cold, damp environment
  • Production and maintenance settings
  • Exposure to various chemicals, machinery, and knives
  • Very active position, requiring standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling.
  • Must be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.
  • Must be able to frequently and regularly use wrists, hands, and or fingers.
  • Acute close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds throughout the day with a partner.
  • Must be able to work for long hours in a no-kill food processing environment, where it is wet, damp, and cold. Employees are expected to remain in these conditions for most of their workdays.
