Job description

Role : SRE (Mainframe + Java + Oracle + Account Management Services)
Location : St Louis, MO ( 3 days onsite/Week )
Duration: 12 Months
Key Responsibilities:
Site Reliability Engineering
  • Ensure reliability, availability, and performance of critical systems and applications.
  • Develop automation for deployment, monitoring, and operational tasks to reduce manual effort.
  • Implement SRE best practices such as SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, observability, and incident analysis.
  • Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and perform root-cause analysis (RCA).

Mainframe Skills:
  • Work with mainframe technologies such as JCL, COBOL, DB2, VSAM, or similar.
  • Support mainframe batch processes and real-time transactional systems.
  • Analyze mainframe job failures, performance bottlenecks, and capacity issues.

Java & Oracle:
  • Develop, support, and optimize Java-based applications and microservices.
  • Write and debug SQL queries, stored procedures, and performance-tuning tasks in Oracle DB.
  • Work on integration between mainframe systems and Java/Oracle-based platforms.

Account Management Services:
  • Provide production support and enhancements for account management or customer information-related applications.
  • Ensure data consistency, security, and compliance across account-related systems.
  • Collaborate with business teams to understand account workflows and improve service reliability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 7-9 years of relevant experience in SRE, Application Support, or System Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with mainframe technologies (JCL, COBOL, DB2, Batch jobs, etc.).
  • Strong expertise in Java programming (Core Java, REST APIs, Spring preferred).
  • Strong experience with Oracle database-SQL, PL/SQL, performance tuning.
  • Experience supporting Account Management services or similar domain applications.
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools (Splunk, AppDynamics, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git, Maven/Gradle).
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work in 24x7 support rotation if required.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Knowledge of automation tools (Python, Shell scripting).
  • Understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
