SEWS - Farmington Hills, Michigan Office.Although located at SEWS - Farmington Hills Office, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least four days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.
JOB TITLE: Business Planner II
BASIC PURPOSE:
  • We are seeking a candidate to lead business performance management activities within the Wire Harness Business Planning team.
  • Key responsibilities include business planning, budget and forecast management, and profitability analysis.
  • The position will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational improvements and support team initiatives.
  • The successful candidate will also be expected to support the development and mentoring of junior team members.
  • Candidates with business performance management experience, leadership potential, and strong problem-solving skills are highly preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial results of managerial Profit & Loss statement by collecting accounting and other data and report them to management with analysis.
  • Make a business plan (budget) of managerial Profit & Loss statement twice a year or quarterly by collecting related information and making proposals to management.
  • Arrange monthly performance review meetings and prepare meeting materials.
  • Calculate wiring harness finished goods purchasing prices in transaction with group companies with knowledge of product cost structures and with use of our IT system.
  • Review and revise wiring harness finished goods purchasing prices quarterly in transaction with group companies with knowledge of product cost structures and with use of our IT system.
  • Verify wiring harness finished goods purchases/imports monthly with the record of finished goods actual purchases from group companies for the purpose of accounting journal entry (payables).
  • Calculate wiring harness material selling prices in transaction with group companies with knowledge of product cost structures and with use of our IT system.
  • Create invoices upon requests in wiring harness material shipped to group companies with use of our IT system for the purpose of accounting journal entry (receivables) and to collect our account receivables of goods sold for group companies.
  • Improve daily operations as mentioned above actively and spontaneously.
  • All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • 3 to 5 years progressive professional business accounting/finance experience.
  • Proficiency in PC applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word etc.)
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese. (Able to speak/read/write business level Japanese.)
  • Experience in business performance management and data analysis.
  • Experience in mentoring, training, and supporting junior team members.
  • Experience in leading cross-functional activities as a project leader.
