Job description

POSITION: Variable Marketing Finance Analyst

LOCATION: Mahwah, NJ

RECRUITMENT SALARY RANGE: $70,500 - $92,000

REPORTS TO: Variable Marketing Manager

Reporting to the VME/Pricing Manager, you will deliver competitive incentive programs to market, evaluate program effectiveness, and manage overall spend. You will also be responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and optimization of vehicle incentive programs. This role will work closely with sales, marketing, and financial services' teams to create, track, and assess the effectiveness of incentive offers and ensure delivery of financial commitments 

WHAT TO EXPECT:

In this role, no two tasks are the same. With lots of projects and relationships to build with people across the business and beyond, it's a challenge that will help your career grow within an iconic organization. Here's what to expect:

  • Partner with Sales and Retail Operations to cash-up quarterly incentive programs and track expense budget.
  • Assist in monitoring competitor incentives and market conditions to inform decision making on pricing/program design inclusive of interest rates, residual values, and sale channel mix.
  • Collaborate with sales and product planning to evaluate programs with inventory, demand, and lifecycle stage.
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual costing for variable marketing actions to support Jaguar Land Rover US sales.
  • Support the launch and payment of quarterly incentive programs as well as ad-hoc enhancements
  • Ensure accurate program communication and implementation across MLPX, dealers, and sales channels.
  • Book monthly variable marketing journal entries.
  • Provide budget versus actual commentary to explain changes in assumptions to improve forecast accuracy and inform management to support decision making
  • Prepare monthly variable marketing account reconciliations (estimate liability on discount incentive programs to customers such as conquest cash, loyalty cash, subvention billing)
  • Review monthly variable marketing subvention bills for accuracy on lease, APR and Used vehicles.
  • Partner with financial services as needed to resolve bank partner reconciliation items, surfacing data inaccuracies to management
  • Ensure spend is compliant with internal policies and accounting guidelines
  • Prepare reserve analyses for management and make recommendations as part of the quarterly Reserve Adequacy review for variable marketing spend inclusive of cash promotional programs, lease/APR subvention, and vehicle residual risk
  • Assess, forecast, and report Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) costs, deferred revenue, and revenue recognition. Book all required journal entries and provide variance commentary.
  • Perform profitability analysis on CPO warranty plans
  • Perform pricing analysis on Used Vehicle warranty plans
  • Responsible for CPO compliance controls.  
  • Perform other duties as required

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

Along with your ambition to achieve the exceptional, there are several skills that you'll need to have to help you succeed here, including:

  • Must have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline or related work experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in financial analysis and accounting;
  • Experience with SAP desired;
  • Previous automotive experience is desired; 
  • Residual value analysis experience is strongly desired;
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills are required (advance Excel capabilities are essential)
  • Ability to interpret and analyze information to ensure data and reporting accuracy.
