Job description

*Prepare PVC/HDPE compounds using laboratory mixer, and evaluate plastic compounds in appropriate equipment such as two roll mill, torque, rheometer, etc.

*Produce and test specimens using appropriate test apparatus such as Izod impact, tensile test systems, FTIR, DSC, melt indexer, etc. in accordance with ASTM, NSF, and UL standards

*Monitor and evaluate short-term extrusion trials, prepare test specimens from trial samples using powered cutting devices such as saws and routers. Collect samples for certification of products or preparing proposals for updated or new materials and products.

*Document laboratory results in appropriate forms or reports for supervisors, other plants, or outside agencies to reference

Education and/or Experience: A high school or college diploma with scientific background or work experience is preferred. Other technical degrees and/or appropriate combination of education and technical training and experience may be considered.

Computer Skills: Posses intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Access, PowerPoint and Excel. Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to comprehend and apply principles of basic math and algebra.
