Job Description

Position Summary

Triangle Math and Science Academy is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Athletic Trainer to provide quality medical care and injury prevention services for our student-athletes. The Athletic Trainer will work closely with the Athletic Director, coaches, student-athletes, parents, and healthcare providers to promote the health, safety, and well-being of all participants in the athletic program.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Provide athletic training coverage for home and away athletic contests and selected practices.
  • Evaluate, treat, and manage athletic injuries and illnesses.
  • Develop and implement injury prevention, rehabilitation, and return-to-play programs.
  • Maintain accurate injury reports, treatment logs, and medical records.
  • Coordinate emergency action plans and respond appropriately to athletic emergencies.
  • Communicate with physicians, parents, coaches, and school administrators regarding athlete health and participation.
  • Ensure compliance with all state, school, and athletic association medical guidelines.
  • Monitor and maintain athletic training equipment and medical supplies.
  • Educate student-athletes and coaches on injury prevention, hydration, nutrition, and overall wellness.
  • Assist with pre-participation physicals and medical clearance procedures.
  • Attend coaches’ meetings and provide recommendations regarding athlete participation status.
  • Promote a positive and professional environment that supports student success and sportsmanship.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training or related field.
  • Current certification by the Board of Certification (BOC).
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as an Athletic Trainer in North Carolina.
  • Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications.
  • Experience working with high school or collegiate athletics preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends during athletic seasons.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with multiple sports.
  • Knowledge of concussion management protocols.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical documentation systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to respond quickly during athletic emergencies.
  • Travel with the Football and Basketball team
  • Reliable transportation

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary: $60,000 to $79,000 Per Year
