Core Responsibilities

CMDB Data Stewardship & Governance

  • Administer and maintain core CMDB reference data, including configuration items, vendors, companies, locations, and organizational hierarchies
  • Support data quality initiatives, including normalization, duplicate remediation, and lifecycle management
  • Enable and support CMDB certification and attestation campaigns to ensure data accuracy and completeness
  • Define and maintain governance policies, standards, and controls aligned with audit and risk expectations

Platform & Process Collaboration

  • Partner with platform and operations teams to convert governance requirements into workflows, controls, and system guardrails
  • Identify gaps, trends, and opportunities for improvement through data analysis and stakeholder engagement

Metrics & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain data quality metrics, dashboards, and reporting frameworks
  • Prepare governance insights and reporting for leadership, audit, and compliance discussions

AI Platform & Process Governance

  • Support governance for AI usage leveraging CMDB data, ensuring controlled, compliant, and intentional use

  • Define and document AI governance guardrails, including approved datasets, controls, and escalation paths

  • Assist in translating AI governance requirements into process controls and certification checkpoints

  • Contribute to AI-ready processes supporting future capabilities such as AIOps, predictive analytics, and AI control frameworks


Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years related work experience, with at least one year of IT service management experience.

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.

  • ITIL Foundation Certification

  • Experience in IT systems, CMDB, data administration, or governance environments

  • Data normalization experience and ability to maintain high-quality structured data

  • Data governance experience, including policies, standards, and controls

  • Ability to operate as a technical administrator while effectively communicating within a governance and process-driven environment

  • Understanding of ITIL processes and service management concepts

  • Experience or exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar)

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and business stakeholders

Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow (CMDB, ITSM modules)

  • ServiceNow System Administrator (SNOW SysAdmin) certification or willingness to obtain within 1 year

  • Cloud certification or demonstrated cloud expertise (AWS, Azure, etc.)

  • Knowledge of CMDB governance, certification campaigns, and audit readiness practices

  • Experience with reporting, dashboards, or data analytics tools

  • Exposure to AI governance, AIOps, or automated service management processes
