Senior Service Technician

 

Position Overview

Multiax Technologies is a leading provider of advanced manufacturing solutions based in Grandville, MI, specializing in multi-axis machining technology for clients across North America. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Service Technician to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our machinery in the field. In this role you will be central to our customers' success across a range of industries — installing, maintaining, and supporting our systems while mentoring fellow technicians and representing Multiax to our clients.

 

Main Responsibilities

•     Installation & Setup:  Plan and execute Multiax machine installations, configuring all components for proper operation, performing calibrations (alignment, leveling, and software setup), and customizing system settings to each client's production requirements.

•     Preventative Maintenance:  Execute comprehensive preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life, regularly inspecting mechanical, electrical, and software systems to catch issues early and upgrading hardware and software to keep systems current.

•     Diagnostics & Repairs:  Perform in-depth diagnostics on mechanical breakdowns, electrical faults, and software errors, using advanced tools and methods to resolve problems quickly and cost-effectively, and document processes and solutions to build the company's knowledge base.

•     Collaboration & Teamwork:  Coordinate with sales, engineering, retrofit, and customer support to ensure seamless service delivery; mentor other technicians and share best practices; and represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and customer events.

•     Customer Support & Engagement:  Serve as a point of contact for customers experiencing technical issues, providing prompt and thorough assistance, educating them on operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance, and building strong relationships that support long-term partnerships.

•     Technical Training:  Conduct hands-on training for customer staff covering system operation, safety protocols, and routine maintenance; contribute to training materials such as manuals, step-by-step guides, and video tutorials; and stay current on new features and technologies.

•     Documentation & Reporting:  Maintain detailed records of every service visit, including issues identified, actions taken, and parts replaced; create and share service reports with customers and internal teams; and help build technical documentation such as troubleshooting guides and maintenance checklists.

From our Grandville, Michigan facility we assemble, integrate, install, and service machines that run in commercial door plants and aerospace composites shops across the U.S. and Canada. We're a small, hands-on team where every builder sees a machine from bare frame to runoff — not one station on a line.
The Multiax facility includes 7,400 square feet of warehouse/showroom space where CNC machines are set up for performing customer sales discussions, training, and demos. We have a large spare parts area for organizing and shipping spare parts as needed by our customers. In addition, 1,200 square feet of office space with conference and training room.
