Position Summary

The Information Technology Specialist provides technical support that enables Prairie Ridge staff to effectively deliver behavioral healthcare services across the organization. This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting computer hardware, software, network-connected devices, communication systems, and other technology used throughout the agency. The Information Technology Specialist also assists with cybersecurity initiatives, technology projects, equipment inventory, and helpdesk operations while providing exceptional customer service to staff across multiple Prairie Ridge locations.


TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Treat all individuals with dignity and respect while maintaining agency standards of confidentiality, professionalism and objectivity.
  2. Adhere to all confidentiality requirements and regulations as outlined in CARF policies and procedures.
  3. Perform general technical support and troubleshooting of desktop systems hardware and software, VOIP phone systems, printers, multi-function printers, scanners, mobile devices, and other technologies as defined and required.
  4. Investigate system issues and provide solutions using specific product knowledge, system tools and established methods and procedures. Document solutions and maintain helpdesk ticket information and transactions as required.
  5. Work with the IT Manager to resolve high level hardware and software issues.
  6. Resolve problems, provide remote assistance, document, and manage tickets.
  7. Participate in desktop, peripheral, building moves, additions, support, and other projects as defined and required.
  8. Work with IT Manager to maintain accurate hardware/software inventory.
  9. Participation in team projects.
  10. Implement and maintain specific security protocols for cyber-attack and phishing prevention, etc.
  11. Proactively complete assigned tasks resulting in successful, on time, high quality deliverables.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Associates degree in IT related field and/or IT certifications and/or equivalent work experience. (Required)
  2. Proficiency with using Windows 11 operating system and various Windows Server OS.
  3. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  4. PC hardware & Network connectivity troubleshooting skills.
  5. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  6. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, end users with varying levels of technical experience, and vendors.
  7. Understanding of computer networking, file storage and print services.
  8. A valid driver’s license is required for possible travel to local outreach offices as needed.
  9. Self-motivated and able to operate independently.
  10. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk and stoop, knell, crouch, or crawl.  The employee is often required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and climb or balance.
  11. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
