Overview
The IT Technical Trainer is responsible for delivering high-quality technical instruction and hands-on training to participants enrolled in the abilIT program. This role guides participants through an assigned IT curriculum, follows established daily lesson plans, and creates an engaging learning environment that supports skill development and career readiness. The position plays a key role in helping participants build the technical skills, confidence, and professional competencies needed to pursue employment in the IT field. The Technical Trainer is expected to represent GCE professionally and contribute to the organization's reputation for delivering high-quality workforce development services.
Role Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Educator in IT, or related degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in the Information Technology (IT) field.
  • May substitute equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certification(s) in CompTIA credentials such as A+, Network+, Security+ or other industry recognized credential are preferred.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with the vocational implications of various disabling conditions.
  • Skilled in curriculum development and lesson planning.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license in the state they reside, have a satisfactory driving record, and be insurable under corporate policy.

Physical Requirements:
May travel to and from various locations and buildings throughout the year and in various weather conditions. Most work will take place indoors. Will work with cleaning chemicals. Will be required to follow the Emergency Operations Work Assignment per customer requirements. Schedules are subject to change.
While performing this job's duties, the team member is regularly required to bend, crouch, walk, climb stairs and ladders, reach above head, and lift up to 40 pounds. Must be able to assist in lifting equipment and move furniture when necessary; will occasionally be required to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
