FanCandy is seeking anexperienced system administrator to join our team. The team goal is to providehighly efficient and low-downtime change management across a variety oflarge-scale customer facing services. The ideal candidate is a dedicatedproblem solver who can multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced anddemanding environment.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare and managemaintenance procedures for FanCandy games.
  • Coordinate and manageprojects related to FanCandy games.
  • Troubleshoot faultyservices and servers.
  • Work with vendors toreplace defective hardware.
  • Work with developmentteams to maintain test environments.
  • Evaluate and / orrecommend hardware and software purchases.
  • Share in off-hour /on-call duties.

Requirements

  • A good understandingof a Linux and Windows based operating systems, including system installation /configuration, file system concepts, resource monitoring, user administration,kernel tuning, package management, and process control / management
  • A good understandingof Linux and Windows network services--specifically the ability to install,configure, and troubleshoot TCP / IP-based services such as DHCP, DNS, SMTP,NFS, and LDAP
  • A good understandingof Microsoft Windows Server, networking, IIS, and SQL Server
  • A minimum of 1 year ofsystem administration experience with an emphasis in managing customer-facingapplications and services
  • Able to write purchasejustifications, train users in complex topics, present to an internal audience,and interact positively with upper management
  • Willing and able tolift 75 lbs.
