Job description

About the role

At Signal Hill Strategies, our Campaign Strategists are the architects behind every client campaign. You will own the strategic direction of multiple accounts, building campaigns rooted in a deep understanding of each client’s industry, audience, and competitive edge, and translating that understanding into measurable results across campaigns.

This is a role for someone energized by the puzzle of figuring out what will actually move the needle for a client, and who can communicate that thinking clearly and confidently to both internal teammates and the people who hire us.

About Signal Hill Strategies

Signal Hill Strategies is a healthcare and wellness focused SEO and GEO agency, though we work across a wide variety of industries. Founded by an athlete-turned-strategist and mentored by leaders at First Page Sage, we build transparent, high-performance SEO campaigns that drive market-qualified leads, rankings, and revenue.

Learn more about us at https://www.signalhillstrategies.com.

What you’ll do

  • Develop a deep understanding of each client’s industry, target audiences, brand voice and tone, competitive advantages, and campaign goals, then translate that into a clear, comprehensive strategic plan.
  • Execute the digital marketing strategies that will be most impactful for each client, drawing from SEO, GEO, PPC, and other channels based on their competitive position and industry.
  • Build, maintain, and revise the Strategy Roadmap throughout the campaign, making strategic adjustments to keep client goals on track.
  • Partner with the internal team to communicate the strategy roadmap and campaign results to clients clearly and confidently.
  • Drive upsells and renewals by identifying strategic opportunities and presenting them to teammates and clients.
  • Work closely with the writing team to identify high-impact content, then collaborate to ensure every piece is high quality and on-brand.
  • Lead client campaigns and build trusting, collaborative client relationships through regular calls, emails, and various forms of communication.
  • Review all campaign work monthly and quarterly to ensure strategic execution is on point and performance is where it should be. Report findings to internal and client teams and recommend pivots when needed.
  • Embody the Signal Hill Strategies mission, vision, and values in every interaction, every day.
  • Maintain fluency and organization across our internal platforms and tools: Teamwork, Google Drive (Docs and Sheets), Ahrefs, SEMrush, Google Analytics, and the wider Google Workspace.

What we’re looking for

More than anything, we’re looking for someone who is hard-working, thinks critically, and communicates clearly. The right mindset matters far more to us than specific tools or industry experience.

  • A strong work ethic: you take ownership of your accounts, follow through on what you commit to, and don’t need to be chased for updates.
  • A confident, articulate communicator, equally strong in writing and in conversation.
  • Sharp critical thinking and a willingness to take initiative to figure things out when the path forward isn’t obvious.
  • Genuine curiosity and an eagerness to keep learning.
  • An interest in how people think and/or in the meaning behind the words we choose. The kind of person who finds language and human psychology genuinely fascinating.
  • Strong organizational skills: you can manage calendars, call notes, and document systems without things slipping through the cracks.
  • General tech savvyness, particularly across Google Workspace, Claude, and Trello.
  • An affinity for thinking strategically, connecting dots across goals, audiences, and tactics to land on the best path forward.

Backgrounds we tend to love

If you studied psychology, comparative literature, philosophy, English, or another field where close reading, careful thinking, and an interest in how people interpret meaning are central, you’ll likely feel right at home in this role. That said, your major matters less than the way you think. We welcome strong candidates from any background.

Bonus points (not requirements)

  • Hands-on experience with Ahrefs, SEMrush, or Google Analytics.
  • Prior exposure to SEO, GEO, or PPC, in any capacity (professional or self-taught).

Why work at Signal Hill Strategies

At Signal Hill, we combine discipline and creativity to build campaigns that perform. As a startup, you’ll have the chance to shape your role, grow quickly, and contribute to the foundation of a scaling agency.

We believe in:

  • Growth and opportunity: you’ll work directly with the founder and have a path to evolve into senior and management positions as we expand.
  • Mentorship: receive hands-on coaching around strategy, client communication, organization, and leadership.
  • Performance culture: we reward execution, initiative, and results, and we have fun doing it.

Benefits

  • Salary range: $85,000 to $90,000.
  • Paid time off (PTO).
  • Performance bonuses.
  • Fully remote (Canadian or U.S.-based).
  • Growth and leadership opportunities in a fast-scaling agency.

How to apply

To apply, submit your resume and a cover letter. In your cover letter, tell us why this role caught your eye and what you would bring to it.
