Job Summary


At this time, only current PSEG employees are being considered. 

The Meter-to-Cash SAP IS-Utilities (Billing and Device Management) Architect and Senior Consultant leads the architecture, design, implementation, and support of SAP IS-U, SAP S/4HANA Utilities, and Meter-to-Cash (M2C) solutions for electric and gas utilities. This role provides technical leadership across SAP and non-SAP applications, leveraging strong ABAP expertise to develop and support SAP IS-U Customer Information System (CIS), Device Management, Billing, and SAP FI-CA solutions. The position owns the operational support of critical Meter-to-Cash platforms, including production support, application monitoring, incident resolution, server upgrades, infrastructure patching, SSL/TLS certificate renewals, and system enhancements to ensure reliable utility operations. The role partners with business and technology stakeholders to define solution architecture, drive system integration, and deliver secure, scalable solutions that improve operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and customer experience. This position reports to the Meter-to-Cash Senior IT Manager.

Job Responsibilities
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to translate strategic goals into solution architecture, technology roadmaps, and capability models aligned with enterprise objectives.
  • Lead the design and governance of scalable, secure, and reusable technology solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, infrastructure, data, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain architecture standards, policies, reusable patterns, and best practices to improve solution quality, consistency, and delivery efficiency.
  • Collaborate with implementation teams to guide solution delivery, promote architectural standards, and ensure successful integration across SAP, non-SAP, and enterprise platforms.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and architectural trends, including cloud, microservices, and continuous delivery, to drive innovation and modernization initiatives.
  • Serve as the technical liaison between business, development, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams to resolve complex technical challenges and achieve consensus.
  • Provide technical leadership and strategic guidance for technology investments, architecture decisions, and enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Coordinate application releases, upgrades, disaster recovery planning, production support, and operational readiness to ensure the reliability and availability of critical business applications. 
Job Specific Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; 8+ years of relevant experience with a degree or 10+ years without a degree.
  • 8+ years of experience implementing, supporting, and enhancing SAP Utilities (IS-U) solutions in electric and gas utility environments.
  • Deep expertise in SAP IS-U modules, including Customer Information System (CIS), Billing, Device Management, Energy Data Management (EDM), Customer Service, and SAP FI-CA, with hands-on configuration and ABAP development experience.
  • Proven experience supporting end-to-end Meter-to-Cash (M2C) business processes and associated SAP and non-SAP utility applications.
  • Experience managing production support for mission-critical utility applications, including incident management, root cause analysis, performance tuning, change management, application monitoring, server upgrades, infrastructure patching, and SSL/TLS certificate renewals.
  • Expertise integrating SAP with enterprise and third-party utility systems using SAP CPI/PI-PO, APIs, IDocs, web services, and related integration technologies.
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid environments (Azure, AWS, or similar) and enterprise monitoring, automation, and infrastructure support tools.
  • Strong understanding of utility industry business processes, regulatory compliance requirements, and their impact on Meter-to-Cash operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage vendor relationships, and communicate effectively with business stakeholders and executive leadership while delivering large-scale SAP Utilities projects.
  • Must be eligible to comply with U.S. Department of Energy regulation 10 CFR Part 810.

  • Experience integrating SAP and non-SAP meter to cash applications.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud architectures (SAP BTP, Azure, AWS, or similar).

  • Experience with implementation of AMI solution and integrations with SAP.
