Position Overview: As the Manager of Technology Infrastructure, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, security, and performance of our systems and establishing a platform that supports other teams and the business. You will collaborate closely with other technology and business teams, resolve complex issues, and drive continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:

System Management:

  • Define and manage the systems that support both O.C. Tanner clients and internal business operations.
  • Provide architectural guidance for information system development, maintenance, and enhancements.
  • Ensure that compute, storage, and cloud services meet performance, availability, and security standards.

On-Premise and Cloud Operations:

  • Oversee both on-premises and cloud operations to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain high availability, security, and compliance across all environments.

Infrastructure Expertise:

  • Strong understanding of data center management, virtualization, server and storage hardware architecture/management, Azure, AWS, Linux and Windows based systems, cloud services, networking, and containers.
  • Strong knowledge of backbone infrastructure protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTPS/SSH and SFTP.
  • Apply infrastructure engineering principles to automate the provisioning, configuration, and management of on-premises and cloud resources.

Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery:

  • Experience designing and executing business continuity and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard critical systems and data.
  • Conduct regulartesting and simulationsto validate the effectiveness of these strategies.

Vendor Relationship

  • Coordinate vendor support cases, renewals, and tooling improvements aligned to service needs
  • Track usage and costs; recommend optimization and reduction.

Security and Compliance:

  • Represent operations during security audits, providing documentation and evidence of our security practices.

People Management and Leadership:

  • Operationalize O.C. Tanner's Leadership Principles: Demonstrate leadership through consistent, observable behaviors-align work to the company's vision, act with a strong sense of ownership, prioritize client impact in decision-making, build trust through follow-through and transparency, and collaborate effectively across teams. Translate these principles into daily team practices, expectations, and performance conversations.
  • Create psychological safety to accelerate learning and innovation: Foster an environment where team members feel safe to speak up, challenge assumptions, surface risks early, and learn from mistakes. Lead blameless postmortems, encourage open dialogue, and actively seek diverse perspectives to improve outcomes. Hold the team accountable for results while also providing the support, tools, and context needed to succeed. Reinforce a culture where commitments are met and outcomes matter.
  • Enable cross-functional collaboration: Work shoulder-to-shoulder with product, engineering, security, and business teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. Break down silos, ensure shared understanding of priorities, and help teams make effective trade-offs that balance speed, quality, and risk.
  • Set the tone for a culture of continuous improvement: Encourage a mindset of ongoing refinement-simplify systems, automate repetitive work, and use data to identify opportunities for improvement. Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience inpeople managementand technical leadership.
  • Strong communication skills and a leadership style grounded in clarity, accountability, and mutual respect.
  • Significant prior experience as a hands-on infrastructure engineer, including responsibility for building, deploying, and operating enterprise data center services.
  • Experience leading and working with offshore teams.
  • Passion for creating a secure and efficient operational environment.
  • Experience with scripting or programming languages such as Linux shell, Python, and PowerShell.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Agile methodologies such as Kanban, Scrum, and Lean.
  • Assess, prioritize, and remediate security vulnerabilities.
  • Drive operational excellence through the development and management of key performance indicators.
  • 5+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience managing and mentoring small to mid-sized technical operations or engineering teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, a related field, relevant certifications, or equivalent experience.
  • This position requires occasional support outside of standard business hours and participation in an on-call rotation.
