Job description

GENERAL SUMMARY 

4DMT is seeking a Senior Business Systems Architect to serve as a hands-on, business-facing technology leader and trusted IT partner supporting our G&A functions, including Procurement, Legal, Finance & Accounting, Human Resources, and Facilities. This role configures, optimizes, supports, and applies AI and automation to the G&A application portfolio, enabling compliant, scalable business processes that support 4DMT's commercialization objectives.   

A successful candidate will be a hands-on G&A Solutions Architect who personally combines enterprise application and integration build skills, AI innovation, stakeholder engagement, and governance discipline to enable scalable growth and commercial readiness.  Open to remote or hybrid candidates that are geographically based on the West Coast. 

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Business Partnership 

  • Serve as the day-to-day IT point of contact and trusted advisor to G&A stakeholders. 
  • Translate business requirements into practical, scalable, well-documented solutions. 
  • Run hands-on process improvement initiatives and maximize value from existing platforms. 
  • Drive user adoption through training, communication, and change management in partnership with the Business Process Owner (BPO). 

Enterprise Applications Support and Solution 

  • Act as the functional and technical owner for applications used across the G&A ecosystem, with primary day-to-day responsibility for the Procurement, CLM, and finance platforms in use; scope will shift as new G&A applications are implemented. 
  • Perform configuration, enhancements, UAT, security administration, and release/regression testing. 
  • Coordinate with outsourced remote MSP on day-to-day basis - ticket triage, backlog prioritization, SLA tracking, and escalation. 
  • Support the underlying business processes end-to-end from IT, technology and compliance standpoint, including contract lifecycle management, procurement, supplier data management, spend management, inventory management, and reporting 
  • Partner with stakeholders to evaluate and pilot new business technologies supporting future growth. 

AI, Automation & Digital Transformation 

  • Identify and build opportunities to leverage AI, Copilot, and workflow automation. 
  • Implement automation solutions that measurably improve efficiency and user experience. 
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to modernize manual processes in partnership with business users, collaboratively with other IT team members. 

Integration, Compliance & Governance 

  • Serve collaboratively as application SME and partner for the design, build and maintenance of enterprise integrations on modern integration platforms. 
  • Execute IT SOX, ITGC, audit, security, and SDLC/change management requirements, including evidence preparation and walkthrough support. 
  • Ensure solutions meet compliance, scalability, and operational standards while balancing efficiencies. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Systems or equivalent 

Experience: 

  • 8-12 years of hands-on enterprise business systems experience. 
  • Demonstrated delivery of efficiency gains using AI technologies and tools. 
  • Strong administration and implementation experience across G&A platforms, including: 
    • Procurement / P2P (Coupa) 
    • Contract lifecycle management (Ironclad or equivalent) 
    • Legal spend / matter management (Brightflag or equivalent) - preferred, not required.
    • ERP - NetSuite or comparable (financials and inventory) - preferred, not required. 
  • Expert knowledge of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, inventory, supplier onboarding, legal operations, and related controls. 
  • Experience with SaaS integrations, APIs, middleware, and workflow automation platforms (such as Workato) - preferred, not required. 
  • MSP partnership and accountability for outsourced or offshore application support. 
  • Strong understanding of evidential SOX, ITGC, audit controls, and governance requirements. 
  • Experience supporting cross-functional business application integrations. 
  • Strong reporting, analytics, and process design capabilities. 
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Azure framework, including Power Platform. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management, workload management and service delivery skills. 
  • Proven capability to work independently with full task ownership and minimal supervision. 
  • Consultative, results-oriented customer-focused mindset 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities. 
  • Strong execution, follow-through, and prioritization skills across concurrent initiatives. 
  • High ownership, accountability, and attention to detail and documentation. 
  • Collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced semi-structured environment. 
  • Curiosity and passion for AI, automation, and continuous improvement. 

Other Qualifications/Skills: 

  • Professional Certifications in Enterprise Platforms (Coupa, Ironclad, etc.) - preferred, not mandatory 
  • ITIL, TOGAF, or similar technology governance / architecture certification preferred. 
  • Hands-on business systems SME with Coupa and CLM expertise. 
  • Proven success delivering AI-enabled process improvements. 
  • Comfortable working directly with auditors, offshore/remote support teams, and business process owners. 
  • Able to balance assigned strategic projects, day-to-day support, and compliance responsibilities without losing hands-on depth and details.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Physical Requirements - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
  • Working Conditions - The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (as in typical office or administrative work).

Base salary compensation range: $167,000 - $183,000
