Job Title: Senior IT Project Manager
Reports To: Sr. IT Programs Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Location: Irving, Phoenix, Tampa Office (Hybrid) or Remote
Summary:
The Senior IT Project Manager, I&O, is a critical leadership role responsible for driving end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-workstream infrastructure programs across Meriton. This position requires a seasoned practitioner who can operate with strategic clarity and tactical precision — translating I&O objectives into executable plans, navigating ambiguity, and consistently delivering measurable business outcomes.
The Senior PM will serve as the primary delivery lead for high-priority infrastructure initiatives spanning cloud migration, data center operations, network modernization, end-user computing, and IT service delivery. In addition to direct project ownership, this role will partner closely with the Enterprise Systems PMO to uphold shared standards, governance rigor, and cross-functional alignment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Project & Program Leadership
• Own the full project lifecycle — initiation through closing — for complex, multi-workstream IT infrastructure programs and portfolios
• Translate I&O strategic objectives into program charters, integrated roadmaps, and measurable success metrics (KPIs/OKRs)
• Manage a concurrent portfolio of initiatives, balancing capacity, risk, cross-program dependencies, and critical path constraints
• Define and maintain integrated program and project plans, including milestones, release schedules, and resource forecasts
• Lead structured risk, issue, and change management processes; develop remediation and mitigation plans; escalate critical items to senior leadership with clear context and recommended actions
• Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and SLAs — holding third parties accountable to delivery commitments and quality standards
PMO Standards & Governance
• Establish, maintain, and continuously improve PMO standards, templates, and processes for IT Infrastructure in alignment with the Enterprise Systems PMO
• Champion consistent practices for project intake, prioritization, and approval in partnership with I&O leadership
• Drive executive-level status reporting, dashboards, and communication routines — delivering data-driven insights on portfolio health, spend, and risk
• Apply and promote the appropriate delivery methodology (Agile, Kanban, Waterfall, or hybrid) based on project context and stakeholder needs
• Ensure financial governance discipline: forecasting, budget tracking, variance analysis, and timely escalation of budget risks across programs
Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Alignment
• Serve as the primary point of contact and accountability for program stakeholders across IT, Finance, Security, and Business units
• Facilitate requirements gathering, scope definition, and decision-making with technical and non-technical audiences
• Define clear roles, responsibilities, and accountability frameworks aligned to I&O delivery standards
• Communicate project status, risks, and decisions with precision and executive presence — adjusting style and detail level to audience
• Build and sustain trusted relationships across engineering, operations, security, and vendor teams
Hands-On Delivery & Team Leadership
• Directly manage high-priority or high-complexity infrastructure projects when the situation demands, leading from the front
• Coordinate internal resources, vendors, and third-party partners with clear expectations, accountability, and delivery rigor
• Ensure seamless transition of completed solutions to operations, including runbooks, support models, and knowledge transfer documentation
• Foster a team culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and delivery excellence
Other Duties
• Regular, consistent and necessary to meet the needs of the business
• Assists the leadership team and other team members with various research projects and/or special projects
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned
• Must conduct self in an ethical, legal, and responsible manner at all times
• Must adhere to the policies, principles, and guidance within the Employee Handbook and Code of Conduct
Education/Experience:
• 8+ years of progressive IT project and program management experience, including delivery of complex, multi-workstream infrastructure initiatives
o Demonstrated expertise across IT infrastructure domains, including one or more of the following:
o Cloud migration & hybrid infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
o Data center operations, consolidation, or modernization
o Network & telecom infrastructure
o End-user computing, collaboration tools, and workforce productivity
o Cybersecurity infrastructure and compliance programs
o Telephony, facilities, and construction-related IT projects
• Strong command of Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall methodologies with the judgment to select the right approach for each context
• Proven experience managing program and project budgets of $500K+ across concurrent initiatives, including forecasting and variance management
• Proficiency with enterprise PPM and PM tools (e.g., Projility, Smartsheet, MS Project, Jira, ServiceNow PPM)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and data visualization for executive reporting
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and negotiation skills with senior and executive leadership
• Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional, geographically distributed teams with follow-through and accountability
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent professional experience
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or PRINCE2 certification; program-level certification (PgMP) a strong plus
• ITIL v4 Foundation or higher — practical experience applying ITSM frameworks to infrastructure delivery is preferred
• Experience building or maturing PMO practices within an I&O or enterprise IT environment is a plus
