Position Overview
The Health IT Manager provides strategic leadership for KANA's clinical technology systems, ensuring the effective support, training, optimization, and adoption of key healthcare applications including Cerner, Dentrix, and CareLogic. This role partners closely with clinical and operational leaders to improve workflows, enhance user experience, and maximize the effectiveness of health information systems across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee training programs for providers and staff on clinical systems and related technologies
- Develop and maintain support processes, documentation, and workflows for issue resolution and system optimization
- Coordinate system upgrades, testing, and implementations with internal teams and external vendors
- Ensure cross-training and support coverage across all clinical applications
- Monitor system performance and user satisfaction; identify opportunities for improvement
- Develop standard operating procedures and training plans in partnership with clinical leadership
- Serve as the primary escalation point for application-related and training-related issues
- Lead and supervise the Health IT team, including Clinical Application Coordinators and Informaticists
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and team workload distribution
- Represent KANA in regional health IT and clinical systems workgroups and committees
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Computer Science, Health Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred
- Three to five years of progressive experience supporting or managing healthcare technology systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum two years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong technical knowledge of electronic health record systems; Cerner, Dentrix, and/or CareLogic experience preferred
- Knowledge of clinical workflows, HIPAA, and healthcare compliance requirements
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and team leadership skills
Work Schedule
KANA's standard work schedule is 37.5 working hours per week, consisting of 7.5 paid working hours per day plus a one-hour unpaid lunch break (8.5 hours on site per day).
