Systems Engineer
Duration: 6 Months Contract with possible extension
Location: Clayton, NC (Onsite)

Position Description :

Summary

IT Systems Engineer is needed to support site expansion projects at site in Clayton, NC. The ideal candidate will provide Tier 1 & 2 operational support as well as participate in projects across IT Infrastructure team. Experience with networking infrastructure, security, and systems infrastructure (Windows based virtual servers) is a must.

Job Description

  • Install, troubleshoot, diagnose & resolve issues with IT network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, WAPs, etc.) & infrastructure systems (Monitoring Tools, Network Management systems, etc.)

  • Hands-on with hardware & software including server room & patch room build outs

  • Operate infrastructure networks equipment/systems under FDA regulations & guidelines as they relate to computer-based information & automation systems

  • Provide tier 1-2 IT network support, including after-hours

  • Provide tier 1-2 server administration/support for onsite virtual servers

Provide tier 1 support of site ERP system, SAP, including iDOC monitoring, analysis, & resolution Liaison between Site end users & HQ end user support for site ERP system, SAP

  • Provide ad-hoc production support & after-hours support to the site for IT related issues

  • Maintain network/infrastructure documentation in accordance with corporate requirements

  • Support backup/restore processes for manufacturing systems

  • Interacts with equipment & service vendors for troubleshooting, installation, improving reliability &/or efficiency purposes

  • Provide superior customer service

  • Adheres to safety procedures including, but not limited to wearing product specific Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements, safety glasses, lock out, confine space & other company policies & procedures

  • Follows all cGMPs & ensures that product is manufactured according to procedure & current Good Manufacturing Practices

Maintains training readiness

Follow all safety and environmental requirements in the performance of duties

  • Other accountabilities as assigned.

  • Travel may be needed to ensure project delivery expectations are met.

  • Must provide on-time completion of assigned SOPs.

  • Implementation of IT/Automation for the specific track

  • Ensures compliance with the company Quality Strategy

  • Close collaboration with Delivery teams

  • Ensures that the track aligns with scope and objectives

  • Determine and align expectations during the project phases for the implementation

  • Work with project management team and effectively communicate project task completion and milestones.

  • Ensure that the work is delivered according to the required quality standards and follow the application and infrastructure architecture.

Required Skillsets

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from an accredited university required.

  • May consider an Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field from an accredited college and seven (7) years of experience implementing & administering networks in a medium to large enterprise environment and supporting Windows based virtual servers.

  • Certification in a networking infrastructure discipline (e.g. CCNA, CCNP) preferred.

  • Specific knowledge of networking principles & concepts preferred.

  • Trouble-shoot, diagnose, resolve & document IT network devices (switches, routers, firewalls) & infrastructure systems (Monitoring Tools, Network Management systems, etc) preferred.

  • Experience supporting Windows based virtual servers preferred

  • Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, food, cosmetic, beverage or relevant work preferred

  • Perform life-cycle system development tasks for IT network & infrastructure systems preferred.

  • Operate infrastructure networks equipment/systems under FDA regulations & guidelines as they relate to computer-based information & automation systems preferred.

  • Adhere to IT Networking/ infrastructure policies & procedures preferred.

Responsibility for implementing IT network security preferred. Coordinates activities of IT Networking/infrastructure/Application teams preferred.

  • Maintain network/infrastructure documentation in accordance with federal & corporate requirements preferred.
