Job description

Job Summary
Applies advanced knowledge of principles, theories and concepts, industry practices and standards to coordinate and administer wide area computer network activities in a twenty-four (24) hour seven (7) day per week mission critical environment. Manages assigned projects in a development, test and production environment.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as technical expert on network systems and software architecture and performance.
  • Utilizes an extensive advanced mastery of network systems in developing network design.
  • Develops network and infrastructure concepts and requirements to meet IT network needs and assists system engineers to modelling of the IT network and systems environment.
  • Influences the overall network security technology road map, design and architecture standards.
  • Designs advanced routing and switching solutions. Completes component and web service based network architectures.
  • Develops, communicates and maintains up to date, accurate documentation of all network components and systems.
  • Plans for future capacity and executes related action plans.
  • Develops and implements disaster recovery procedures.
  • Supports system engineers and other IT technology experts to provide a reliable IT network and infrastructure.
  • Implements advanced network configurations.

Performs other duties as required. These duties may include assignments in job classifications and departments other than the primary assignment.
