Job description

Omega Morgan believes that each employee makes a significant contribution to our success. That contribution should not be limited by the assigned responsibilities. Therefore, this position description is designed to outline primary duties, qualifications and job scope, but not limit the individual nor the organization to just the work identified. It is our expectation that each employee will offer his/her services wherever and whenever necessary to ensure the success of our endeavors.

We are seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead the internal IT function and serve as the senior technical owner of the systems that keep our operations running. This role manages a small, capable team of administrators and is the senior hands-on owner for Microsoft 365, identity and access, our core business platforms, Power BI reporting, and the security posture of the organization. It is a working leadership role — balancing people management and strategy with day-to-day technical depth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Team Leadership

  • Direct management of our front-line IT staff covering network/help desk, systems and applications, and endpoint management.
  • You will provide coaching, expectation management, performance guidance, and career development for each report.
  • Workload triage and prioritization across the team, including ticket distribution and project assignment.

Microsoft 365 and Identity

  • Senior administration of the M365 tenant: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, distribution lists, shared mailboxes, mailbox quotas, mail flow, and litigation holds
  • Identity and access management across on-premise Active Directory and Entra ID, including MFA, group policies, and account lifecycles.

Business Application Management

  • Become one of our senior experts on the Sales/Job management platform and act as a key interface for the various departmental leaders to translate operational needs into system configuration, data, and reporting.
  • Manage the creation, modification, and health of system records such as business partners, AP/AR invoices, quotes, jobs, pricing/cost updates, user access, and integrations with our ERP and other downstream systems.
  • External vendor and integration management tasks including coordinating API access, credentials, and data sharing with third-parties and consulting partners.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Senior ownership of the Power BI environment. Author and maintain various reports used by divisional leaders and executives.
  • Author and maintain custom excel reporting for finance, sales, and operations where Power BI is not the right tool.

Onboarding, Offboarding, and Lifecycle

  • Management of the onboarding/offboarding process across all entities, including coordinating with HR on new-hire notices, ensuring laptop, email, and various software provisioning tasks are delivered on time.

Infrastructure and Endpoint Oversight

  • Endpoint program oversight, MDM, and productivity software suite management.
  • FreshService ticketing platform ownership

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership and people-management skills, with the ability to coach, develop, and hold a team accountable
  • Strong technical depth across multiple domains, with the judgment to know when to dive deep and when to delegate
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitude
  • Clear, direct written and verbal communication, with the ability to translate between technical staff, executives, and field employees
  • Comfortable being the senior escalation point on complex technical issues
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage competing demands
  • Sound judgment around security, data integrity, and risk
  • Ability to partner effectively with non-technical stakeholders across operations, finance, sales, and HR

Required Experience and/or Education

  • 5+ years in IT roles, with at least 1 year directly managing IT staff
  • Strong, hands-on Microsoft 365 administration experience: Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, and PowerShell or Graph API for automation and reporting
  • Demonstrated experience administering one or more business platforms end-to-end (ERP, operations platform, or industry-specific system) including user setup, configuration, data integrity, and integrations
  • Strong Power BI skills, including DAX, data modeling, and managing reports for an executive audience
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, MFA, VPN (Fortinet or comparable), and endpoint management
  • Working knowledge of FreshService or a comparable ITSM platform
  • Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST 800-171, or ISO 27001
  • Experience supporting a non-tech, field-heavy organization (construction, logistics, manufacturing, transportation, energy) preferred
  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft 365, Azure/Entra, Security+, ITIL, or PMP preferred
