Position: Infrastructure Support Engineer
Department: Technology
Reporting Relationship: Reports to the Director of Infrastructure
Status: Full-Time (Exempt)
Position Summary
The Infrastructure Support Engineer provides hands-on technical support for Tepper Sports & Entertainment's core infrastructure environments. This role serves as a bridge between end-user support and senior infrastructure engineering, supporting systems, network, and cloud platforms that enable day-to-day operations and large-scale live events.
The Infrastructure Support Engineer is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and supporting infrastructure components, while partnering closely with Systems Administrators, Network Engineers, Cybersecurity, and the Helpdesk team.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Provides operational support for Cisco network infrastructure (core, edge, wireless), ensuring reliable connectivity across enterprise, stadium, and event-critical environments.
  • Supports Cisco solutions including ISE, ThousandEyes, and Cisco Spaces, enabling network access control, device profiling, experience monitoring, path visibility, and location analytics to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Monitors, troubleshoots, and resolves on-prem and cloud-connected network services, collaborating with server, Azure, and vendor teams (including Cisco TAC) to maintain high availability and performance.
  • Performs routine infrastructure maintenance tasks such as patching, monitoring, and health checks.
  • Assists with backup monitoring and recovery activities, including validating job success and supporting restore testing.
  • Troubleshoots infrastructure-related incidents escalated from the helpdesk, working to resolve issues efficiently and securely.
  • Collaborates with Systems Administrators and Infrastructure Project Managers on infrastructure upgrades and deployments.
  • Supports documentation efforts, including runbooks, standard operating procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Assists with event-driven and after-hours support as required, including game days and major venue events.
  • Follows security best practices and change management procedures when performing infrastructure work.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a systems administration role.
  • Experience supporting Cisco Networks and Cisco ISE is required.
  • Hands-on experience designing and supporting large scale networks.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Azure services and administration.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), identity lifecycle management, and access controls.
  • Experience administering enterprise backup and recovery solutions.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server environments; Linux experience is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (Azure Administrator, VMware, or similar) preferred.

Skills for Success
  • Strong foundational knowledge of infrastructure technologies and operational support.
  • Ability to troubleshoot across systems, virtualization, and cloud environments.
  • Clear communication with technical teams and support staff.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to operational procedures.
  • Willingness to learn and grow into more advanced infrastructure responsibilities.

Work Environment
  • This job operates in a professional office environment, and will require work at stadium events, as mentioned above, on nights, weekends, and holidays. It may also require travel to off-site partnership events.
  • Work is mixed between an office and desk environment, and user or equipment locations throughout the stadium and other satellite properties.
  • Work from home using personally provided Internet and availability via personal cell phone may be required during urgent incidents.
  • Work may require leaving the facility at times to pick up equipment or attend out of town training.
  • Work may include sitting at a desk or computer for long periods of time.
  • Bending, standing, reaching, kneeling, and lifting technology equipment may be required.
  • Lifting 60 pounds, working on a ladder, using power tools, and performing other facility maintenance functions related to technology infrastructure may be required.
