Position Summary

The IT Infrastructure Support Specialist serves as a primary point of contact for IT support while also supporting the organizationโ€™s network and cloud infrastructure. This role is responsible for diagnosing, resolving, and escalating hardware, software, network, and system issues while ensuring a high level of customer service. In addition to supporting end-user devices and the Microsoft 365 environment, the specialist monitors and troubleshoots Fortinet network equipment and assists with the day-to-day administration of Azure networking services, enterprise print management, the RingCentral phone system, and account provisioning across a wide range of business applications. This position includes periodic travel to company offices across the United States to resolve issues that require an on-site presence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to team members by responding to incidents and service requests remotely and in person.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware, software, and application issues in a Windows and Microsoft 365 environment.
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain end-user devices including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, and peripherals, using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot for enrollment, provisioning, and ongoing management.
  • Support new hire onboarding and offboarding by preparing equipment, provisioning user accounts, and ensuring appropriate system access.
  • Accurately document incidents, requests, assets, and user information in the Service Desk and Asset Management systems.
  • Monitor and respond to alerts related to connectivity, applications, and device performance, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Assist with user administration in Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and Azure AD (Entra ID).
  • Monitor and perform basic troubleshooting of Fortinet network equipment, including FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP wireless access points, escalating configuration changes and complex issues to the company's third-party network provider.
  • Support Azure networking components such as virtual networks, subnets, VPN gateways, network security groups, and site-to-site connectivity, escalating complex changes as needed.
  • Administer enterprise print management through PrinterLogic, including printer deployment, driver management, and resolution of print-related issues.
  • Administer the RingCentral phone system, including user and extension provisioning, call queues and routing, auto-attendant/IVR configuration, device setup, and troubleshooting of call quality and connectivity issues.
  • Provision, modify, and deprovision user accounts and access across a wide variety of business applications, following established approval and least-privilege practices.
  • Create, update, and maintain IT documentation such as procedures, standards, and how-to guides.
  • Follow IT policies, security standards, and best practices to help maintain a secure and reliable computing environment.
  • Work closely with the company's third-party network provider on escalated issues and planned changes, supplying site detail and diagnostics, acting as the on-site presence when physical work is required, and tracking items through to resolution.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members and vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Travel to company offices across the United States as needed to resolve complex network, connectivity, and other office technology issues on site.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & QualificationsTechnical Knowledge & Skills โ€” Required
  • 3โ€“5+ years of experience in a Service Desk, Help Desk, or technical support role supporting end users, including hands-on exposure to network or infrastructure support.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and laptop operating systems.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS, DHCP, VPN).
  • Knowledge of computer hardware, peripherals, and mobile devices.
  • Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) principles and ticketing systems.
  • Experience with endpoint provisioning and lifecycle management using traditional imaging and/or modern cloud-based methods (such as Intune or Autopilot), along with software deployment and user account provisioning.
  • Experience provisioning and administering user accounts and access across a wide variety of business applications and SaaS platforms.
Technical Knowledge & Skills โ€” Preferred
  • 1โ€“3 years of hands-on experience in a Fortinet environment, including FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch, and FortiAP wireless access points.
  • Working knowledge of Azure networking, including virtual networks, subnets, network security groups, VPN gateways, and hybrid connectivity.
  • Experience administering Microsoft Intune, including device enrollment, compliance and configuration policies, application deployment, and endpoint security baselines.
  • Experience administering PrinterLogic or a comparable enterprise print management platform.
  • Experience administering RingCentral or a comparable cloud VoIP/UCaaS phone platform, including user provisioning, call routing, and call quality troubleshooting.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent work experience and/or certifications may be considered in place of a degree.
Certifications (Preferred)
  • CompTIA A+
  • CompTIA Network+
  • Fortinet NSE 4 (or other Fortinet Network Security certifications)
  • Other relevant Microsoft, Fortinet, or IT support certifications
Travel Requirements
  • Travel up to 25% to company offices across the United States to resolve complex network, internet connectivity, and other site-level technical issues that cannot be addressed remotely.
  • Act as on-site hands during these visits in coordination with the company's third-party network provider, performing physical installation, replacement, and cabling of network equipment, verifying connectivity, and confirming that remotely applied changes are working as intended.
  • Perform additional on-site work as needed, including basic wireless and connectivity troubleshooting, site surveys, equipment inventory, and support for office moves, expansions, and closures.
  • Occasional overnight and weekend travel is required, including scheduled after-hours maintenance windows and cutovers.
  • Occasional travel on short notice may be required to respond to site outages or other business-critical incidents.
  • Must be able to travel by air and maintain valid identification acceptable for domestic air travel.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and transport computer equipment weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.
