Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced IT Infrastructure Engineer to oversee enterprise infrastructure operations within a large-scale environment. This leadership role will be responsible for managing day-to-day infrastructure operations, ensuring high availability of systems, supporting disaster recovery initiatives, and leading infrastructure modernization efforts.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience managing enterprise infrastructure environments including mainframe technologies, z/OS systems, or large-scale AIX/Linux/Unix platforms.

Key ResponsibilitiesTeam Oversight
  • Lead and coordinate daily infrastructure operations and support activities.
  • Ensure systems availability and operational stability according to established SLAs.
  • Provide leadership in system administration, performance management, hardware configuration, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Monitor infrastructure operations and escalate issues as needed.
  • Support implementation of infrastructure standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Research and implement strategic infrastructure solutions and emerging technologies.
Performance, Monitoring & Capacity Planning
  • Analyze infrastructure performance and capacity metrics.
  • Perform daily, monthly, and annual capacity planning activities.
  • Monitor system utilization and forecast future infrastructure requirements.
Project Planning & Delivery
  • Lead infrastructure-related projects including hardware and software upgrades.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and implementation strategies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver projects successfully.
Software & Systems Management
  • Track software releases, patches, and maintenance schedules.
  • Ensure infrastructure systems remain current and compliant with operational standards.
  • Support enterprise storage, operating systems, and platform management activities.
Vendor & Technology Management
  • Collaborate with hardware and software vendors on support, upgrades, and capacity planning.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies aligned with organizational requirements.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and support procurement planning.
Documentation & Governance
  • Develop and maintain operational procedures and infrastructure documentation.
  • Ensure procedural documentation is accurate, current, and aligned with operational processes.
  • Support compliance with technical policies and standards.
Fiscal Planning
  • Assist with infrastructure budgeting and long-term technology planning.
  • Support cost forecasting for hardware/software upgrades, lifecycle replacements, and capacity growth initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with relevant infrastructure engineering experience; OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
  • Strong experience supporting enterprise infrastructure operations and engineering environments.
  • Experience leading technical teams and managing enterprise infrastructure projects.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 20+ years of experience in infrastructure management within large-scale enterprise environments.
  • Strong experience with IBM Mainframe z/OS systems, subsystems, and enterprise storage technologies.
  • Candidates with strong AIX/Linux/Unix infrastructure management experience will also be considered.
  • Experience with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with technical teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience managing infrastructure upgrades, capacity planning, and operational support.
