About the Opportunity

We are excited to partner with our client in the search for a hands-on IT Systems Manager who will lead and optimize their technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and end-user support environment.

We are seeking a hands-on Information Systems Manager to own and optimize our technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and end-user support environment.

The ideal candidate has experience in a small to mid-sized medical device, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or regulated manufacturing organization, where they served as a key technology leader with broad technical responsibilities. Experience with AI, automation, and emerging technologies is a strong plus.

What You'll Do

  • Own and personally manage systems infrastructure including on-premise and cloud-based servers, storage, networking equipment, endpoint management, patching, and performance monitoring.
  • Administer and optimize enterprise applications including Microsoft 365, Entra ID (Azure AD), ERP, CRM, QMS, reporting platforms, and other business-critical systems.
  • Architect and maintain cloud environments with a focus on Microsoft Azure, ensuring scalability, security, reliability, and cost optimization.
  • Execute cybersecurity and compliance controls including endpoint protection, identity and access management, MFA, backup and disaster recovery, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Personally resolve complex technical issues across infrastructure, networking, cloud platforms, applications, and integrations.
  • Provide advanced end-user support including Tier 2/3 troubleshooting, onboarding, offboarding, device provisioning, and account administration.
  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies including AI-powered tools, workflow automation platforms, Microsoft Copilot, and intelligent business applications to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Manage vendor relationships and IT spend including contract negotiations, software licensing, renewals, and budgeting.
  • Contribute to technology strategy and roadmap planning while leading infrastructure and systems improvement projects from concept through implementation.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
  • 5-8 years of experience in systems administration, IT infrastructure, systems engineering, or IT operations.
  • Proven hands-on expertise with:
    • Microsoft 365
    • Entra ID (Azure AD)
    • Windows Server
    • Active Directory
    • Microsoft Azure
  • Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, and LAN/WAN environments.
  • Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated cybersecurity expertise including endpoint security, access controls, patch management, backup and disaster recovery, and security incident response.
  • Experience supporting and integrating enterprise applications including ERP, CRM, QMS, financial, and operational systems.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
  • Strong vendor management, budgeting, and project management capabilities.

Preferred

  • Experience serving as the primary IT leader or senior infrastructure professional within a small to mid-sized organization (50-500 employees).
  • Experience in a medical device, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, diagnostics, aesthetics, healthcare, or regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with FDA-regulated environments, GxP requirements, and 21 CFR Part 11 compliance.
  • Experience supporting commercial operations, sales operations, manufacturing, distribution, or customer-facing business functions.
  • Microsoft, Azure, cybersecurity, networking, or cloud certifications.
  • Exposure to artificial intelligence (AI), Microsoft Copilot, intelligent automation platforms, AI-enabled business applications, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated interest in leveraging AI and automation to improve business processes, reporting, infrastructure operations, or end-user productivity.
