What is my day to day like?

As an intern with our Information Technology team, you'll have the opportunity to support end users and contribute to the daily operations of our help desk environment. This is an excellent opportunity to build hands-on technical experience, strengthen troubleshooting skills, and learn more about infrastructure, hardware, software, and networking support. Your typical day-to-day will include but is not limited to:

  • Document resolutions for help desk tickets and support requests.
  • Assist in software roll-outs.
  • Assist in hardware roll-outs.
  • Support incoming help desk requests.
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and aid in troubleshooting.
  • Test fixes to ensure issues are resolved effectively.
  • Support networking and VMware (virtual infrastructure) projects.
  • Complete other administrative tasks as needed to assist the IT team.

What makes a person successful in this position.

  • Pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, with relevant coursework in Information Technology.
  • Knowledge of basic computer hardware and experience with Windows operating systems.
  • Understanding of help desk software and wireless systems.
  • Experience performing fixes at the desktop level and testing solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, with good planning, organization, and prioritization abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work approximately 40 hours per week.

What will my schedule be like?

During the course of the Summer Internship Program, you will work M-F up to 40 hours a week. A typical day will be 8:30 am-5:00 pm with a break for lunch. Remote work opportunities are available 2 days a week with prior manager approval.
