Job description

ABOUT THE TEAM
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic IT Hardware Manager to lead our hardware lifecycle management operations across the organization. This role will be instrumental in overseeing IT procurement, asset management, and our hardware device management platform (Oomnitza), ensuring seamless equipment delivery and tracking that supports our rapidly scaling defense technology operations. You will work at our headquarters in Costa Mesa and lead a team responsible for the strategic planning, procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management of all IT hardware assets.
WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead IT Hardware Operations: Manage and mentor a team responsible for IT procurement, asset management, device provisioning, and hardware lifecycle operations across all Anduril locations.
  • Oversee Procurement Strategy: Define and execute IT hardware procurement strategies, including vendor management, contract negotiations, cost optimization, and supply chain coordination to ensure timely delivery of equipment.
  • Manage Asset Lifecycle: Own the complete hardware asset lifecycle from requisition through deployment, maintenance, refresh cycles, and secure disposition, ensuring compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
  • Optimize Oomnitza Platform: Serve as the primary owner of the Oomnitza hardware device management platform, driving continuous improvements in automation, integrations, reporting, and user experience.
  • Develop Hardware Roadmap: Define and prioritize the roadmap for hardware standards, refresh cycles, emerging technologies, and asset management tool enhancements aligned with business growth and security requirements.
  • Drive Process Excellence: Establish and champion hardware management policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure operational efficiency, cost effectiveness, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Strategic Alignment: Partner with IT leadership, Finance, Security, and business stakeholders to align hardware strategies with organizational objectives and budget planning.
  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain strategic relationships with hardware vendors, distributors, and service providers to ensure competitive pricing, quality service, and supply chain resilience.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Monitor hardware inventory, utilization metrics, procurement cycles, and costs; generate regular reports and insights for senior leadership to inform strategic decisions.
  • Support Rapid Scaling: Enable Anduril's growth by ensuring efficient onboarding/offboarding processes, supporting new office openings, and maintaining hardware availability for global operations.
  • Security and Compliance: Ensure all hardware procurement and management activities comply with security policies, including device encryption, secure provisioning, and audit requirements necessary for defense contractor operations.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT operations with a minimum of 5 years in management roles focused on hardware procurement, asset management, or IT supply chain.
  • Proven experience managing IT asset management platforms (Oomnitza strongly preferred) and leading hardware lifecycle operations at scale.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing teams, including coaching, performance management, and building high-performing operations.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise hardware ecosystems including laptops, desktops, mobile devices, peripherals, and associated technologies (MDM, endpoint management, etc.).
  • Proven track record of vendor management, contract negotiations, and procurement optimization in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
  • Experience establishing and improving operational processes, with a focus on automation and efficiency gains.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with demonstrated ability to use data to drive decisions and optimize operations.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with proven success collaborating across technical and business functions.
  • Ability to travel as needed to support multiple office locations.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Deep expertise with Oomnitza platform including API integrations, automation workflows, and custom reporting.
  • Experience with procurement and asset management in defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience with ITIL frameworks, particularly in asset and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with ERP/financial systems integrations for procurement and asset tracking (e.g., NetSuite, Coupa, SAP).
  • Experience with automation technologies and scripting to streamline hardware operations (Python, PowerShell, APIs).
  • Knowledge of hardware security requirements for defense contractors including device encryption, secure disposal, and audit compliance.
  • Experience managing IT hardware operations in a Zero Trust security environment.
  • Background supporting hardware-intensive operations such as manufacturing facilities, laboratories, or field operations.
  • Professional certifications such as ITIL, CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager), or CPSM (Certified Professional in Supply Management).
