Summary

Help
  • As Director, SMC PMO, provides technical guidance to staff performing PMO functions, including analyzing broad communications requirements and developing technical guidance to facilitate projects and programs supporting SMC.
  • Responsible for Information Technology/Telecommunications projects, programs, task coordination and senior Subject Matter Expert of Information Technology (Customer Support).
  • Will be the primary coordinator for all Special Missions Command Information Technology projects related to systems internal and external to the Command.
  • Advises the Special Missions Command Commander on all projects impacting both internal and external agencies.
  • Provide all senior level customer support assistance as required by the White House Communications Agency (WHCA) Project Management Office and commercial vendors to design, develop, and implement Information Technology/Telecommunications systems.

Qualifications
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Basic Requirements:
Attention to Detail- experience reviewing my own information technology-related work or data and have been asked by others to review their work or data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency with standards
Customer Service - experience maintaining relationships with customers, assessing current information technology needs of customers, and developing or identifying information technology products and services that are tailored to meet customer needs
Oral Communication -briefing mid-level management and IT staff on the status of information technology systems, projects, or daily operations, including the communication of technical information to a non-technical audience
Problem Solving - identifying alternatives to address complex information technology-related issues by gathering and applying information from a variety of sources that provide a number of potential solutions
Qualifying Experience:
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service.
For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: Experience in managing the full life cycle of complex IT and telecommunication projects including developing technical specifications, managing acquisitions, or performing Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) duties to include be not limited to writing Statements of Work (SOW).
Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
Additionally, prior to reporting for duty the selectee must be found eligible for a DoD Top Secret security clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI) based upon an Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), AND be approved for Presidential Support Duty in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5210.55 (Yankee White - Category II, minimum).

Education
There is no substitution of education for the Qualifying Experience at the GG-13 grade level.

  • This position has been designated as "Mission Essential." Incumbent will be required to report to work or relocate to a new duty location, within the United States, in times of local/national emergency.
  • Employee is subject to recall or call back during off-shift hours, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, if required by upper management.
  • This is an obligated position with DISA to which an employee has statutory restoration rights based on active military service, compensable injury or disability when fully recovered, or return rights based on having served an overseas tour(s).
