Job Summary:
Mortenson is currently seeking an IT Solution Architect responsible for defining, governing, and assuring solutions across the Oracle and non-Oracle Cloud ecosystem. This role provides strategic design leadership across multiple programs, ensuring alignment between business strategy and cloud platform capabilities.
Responsibilities:
• Own the application-level solution design vision for Cloud processes across multiple business groups and technologies.
• Define target-state, transition, and future-state solution design aligned to organizational strategy, application roadmaps and ensuring consistency and reuse of patterns.
• Establish, enforce, and evolve solution design governance frameworks, principles, standards, and reference models.
• Act as the reviewer for solution decisions, exceptions, and risk acceptance. Oversee and validate solution designs produced by other Solution Architects and technical teams
• Ensure solutions are upgrade-safe, secure, scalable, cost-effective, and supportable.
• Govern enterprise integration strategies, API standards, and data ownership models.
• Ensure solutions comply with enterprise security, compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements.
• Partner with executive leadership, business sponsors, and delivery leadership to align technology strategy with business outcomes.
• Translate complex architectural concepts into executive-level guidance and recommendations.
• Drive team collaboration by partnering with developers and stakeholders to deliver optimized applications and integrations; providing technical guidance through design and code reviews
• Lead business interaction by engaging business partners to understand needs, respond to questions and concerns, and translate requirements into actionable technical solutions.
• Mentor Solution Architects and Technical Architects on solution design thinking, governance, design quality and drive maturity through standards of adoption and knowledge sharing.
• Demonstrate curiosity and initiative by proactively exploring new technologies, methodologies, and tools; evaluating options; and experimenting with solutions that improve scalability, security, and maintainability.
• Apply strong research skills by conducting thorough evaluation of new technologies, frameworks, and best practices through documentation review, trusted resources, and community guidance.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience is preferred.
• 15+ years of experience in solution delivery with significant time spent on design and leadership roles.
• Proven experience as a Principal Architect, Solution Architect, or IT Architect on large-scale implementation and solutions integrating multiple applications.
• Proven experience designing custom UI/UX solutions that integrate with databases and web services to retrieve and present data.
• Strong record of defining and governing solution design standards and frameworks.
• Extensive experience delivering large, multi-program, multi-vendor Oracle and non-Oracle initiatives.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, executive communication, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to balance innovation, standardization, delivery pressure, and long-term architectural health.
• Deep architectural understanding and hands on experience with Cloud Architectures with various Oracle and non-Oracle enterprise platform.
• Architecture knowledge of: Cloud Fusion ERP, HCM, SCM, and EPM.
• Enterprise integration patterns and Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
• Oracle extensibility strategies using APEX, Visual Builder, and ORDS.
• Reporting and analytics architecture (BI Publisher, OTBI).
• Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) fundamentals, IAM, security, and environments.
• Non-Oracle Cloud Platforms like Salesforce, UKG, Concur, Procore.
• AI Services through Oracle, Microsoft, Google and other vendors.
• Deep architectural understanding on how to evaluate and govern solutions using Oracle and non-Oracle integration platforms.
• Strong capability to assess designs for scalability, resiliency, security, cost, and operational supportability.
