Job Description: Job Title:Enterprise Data Architect – M&A Integration Overview / Summary

The Data Architect will own the target-state data architecture for the combined organization. Working directly from the outputs of the IT Application Assessment and M&A Integration workstream, this role will design how data flows, is governed, and is consolidated across investment, risk, client, and operational domains. The position is responsible for transforming a fragmented, dual-legacy data landscape into a unified, streamlined, and well-governed enterprise data architecture while defining enterprise standards, architecture direction, and advising senior technology leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define and own the target-state enterprise data architecture, translating IT Application Assessment rationalization findings into a unified data domain model, integration architecture, and migration roadmap.
  • Establish a unified data governance framework, standards, and policies across investment/portfolio, client/CRM, risk & compliance, and reference/master data domains.
  • Identify and eliminate data redundancy, inconsistency, and fragmentation, and define the architecture approach for consolidating overlapping data stores.
  • Design scalable data pipelines and integration patterns (batch and real-time) to support consolidated reporting, analytics, and regulatory requirements across U.S. and U.K. entities.
  • Partner with the Manager, IT Application Assessment & M&A Integration and the broader Integration Management Office (IMO) to align application rationalization decisions with target data architecture and data lineage requirements.
  • Define data migration and consolidation strategies for critical systems, including trading/portfolio management, risk, CRM, and security reference data, with sequencing, dependencies, and cutover planning.
  • Establish master data management (MDM) and data quality frameworks to support a single source of truth across the combined organization.
  • Advise on cross-border data residency, privacy, and regulatory considerations, including GDPR, SEC, FCA, and cross-border data transfer requirements.
  • Define enterprise data modeling standards along with metadata management, cataloging, and data lineage practices.
  • Represent data architecture in IMO governance forums and present recommendations and risk trade-offs to senior technology and business leadership.
  • Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to data engineering, BI/analytics, and application teams throughout the integration.
Required Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in data architecture or data engineering, including at least 5+ years in a Data Architect or comparable enterprise data leadership role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading data architecture strategy through a large-scale M&A integration or carve-out, ideally within financial services or asset/wealth management.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise data architecture, including data warehousing, data lakes/lakehouses, master data management, data governance, and modern integration patterns (ETL/ELT, event streaming, APIs).
  • Strong understanding of investment management data domains, including portfolio/trading data, security reference data, client/CRM data, and risk & performance data.
  • Experience translating application portfolio assessment and rationalization outputs into data architecture and migration plans.
  • Proven experience establishing data governance frameworks and standards across large, complex, multi-entity organizations.
  • Familiarity with cross-border regulatory considerations affecting data architecture, including GDPR, SEC, FCA, and data residency requirements.
  • Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence CDO, CTO, and CIO-level stakeholders and collaborate across U.S. and U.K. teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Advanced degree is a plus.
