About the Role

McKesson is seeking a Senior Manager, IT Project Management to lead a team of regional Project Managers supporting technology initiatives across US Oncology practices. In this people leadership role, you will strengthen project delivery discipline, coach and develop project management talent, and improve visibility into portfolio health, risks, capacity, and execution priorities. You will partner across practice-facing leaders, business stakeholders, and enterprise technology teams to drive consistent governance, scalable delivery standards, and executive-ready communication in a complex, matrixed environment.

What You'll Do
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of regional Project Managers supporting technology and practice-facing initiatives.
  • Establish project governance standards, delivery management practices, operating rhythms, tools, and reporting expectations.
  • Guide project managers through planning, risk and issue management, escalation, dependency management, and stakeholder alignment.
  • Provide executive-level communication on project health, delivery risks, capacity, resource needs, and improvement opportunities.
  • Lead capacity planning, workload balancing, prioritization, and resource tradeoff discussions across multiple initiatives.
  • Partner with business, technology, and practice leaders to align project sequencing, delivery support, and organizational priorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, standardization, delivery metrics, and disciplined use of project artifacts.
  • Lead through influence across cross-functional teams in a matrixed technology environment.
Basic Requirements
  • 9+ years of professional experience, including 1+ year of supervisory, people leadership, or management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience leading or developing project managers, delivery leads, program managers, or comparable technology delivery resources.
  • Experience overseeing cross-functional technology projects or programs in a complex enterprise environment.
  • Resume-verifiable experience with project planning, governance, status reporting, resource coordination, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience communicating project status, risks, and decisions to senior leaders or executive stakeholders.
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Healthcare, physician practice, oncology, or regulated-industry experience.
  • Experience leading distributed, regional, or multi-site teams.
  • PMP, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, Lean, Six Sigma, ITIL, or comparable certification or experience.
  • Experience with enterprise project management and reporting tools such as Planview, Jira, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Visio, or Microsoft Office.
  • Financial or operational planning experience, including forecasting, utilization, capacity planning, or resource planning.
  • Experience using dashboards, approved AI-enabled tools, or predictive insights to improve delivery visibility and outcomes.
Travel, Work Environment and Physical Requirements
  • Up to 25% travel may be required based on business needs, practice support, team engagement, and leadership activities.
  • Work arrangement may vary based on team, business, and role requirements.
  • Role may require extended periods working at a computer and participating in virtual or in-person meetings.
