Overview
Barrios Technology is an engineering solutions partner with more than 45 years of experience supporting NASA and the commercial space industry. We deliver innovative engineering, software, and technology integration services across NASA centers nationwide. The Lead Increment Engineer will act as NASA's main integrator for all assigned-Increment stakeholder coordination, requirements product development, and Program Office mission execution tasks.
Responsibilities
The Lead Increment Engineer will:
  • Support real-time ISS operations in the Mission Control Center (MCC) Houston as an ISS Program Office representative.
  • Tasks include daily ISS status reports, tracking completion of mission objectives, updating mission objectives based on real-time operations and failures, publication of official results from the ISS Mission Management Team (IMMT) and Ops Tag, etc
  • Develop, gather, and integrate ISS mission objectives/requirements with NASA engineers/flight controllers and International Partners (ESA, JAXA, CSA, and RSC-E)
  • Manage the development of the Increment Definition and Requirements Document (IDRD) and the Post Increment Evaluation Report (PIER) documents
  • Perform assessments to confirm feasibility of accomplishing the integrated requirements submitted for the CSRD period
  • Identify potential concerns/risks and provide recommend options for resolving issues
  • Represent the Increment Management Team (IMT) at ISS Boards and Technical Reviews
  • Present at ISS Boards and Technical Reviews as required
  • Travel on a periodic basis to support program reviews and Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs)
  • Overtime and shiftwork are periodically required

Qualifications
This position is posted at multiple levels. Depending on the candidate's experience, position requirements and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.
Required Education/Experience/Skills:
  • A Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of relevant experience with three (3) years of spaceflight operations and/or integration experience. A higher degree may count in lieu of 2 years of experience

OR
  • A Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university and ten (10) years of relevant experience
  • Leadership skills to effectively lead teams that consist of people from other organizations and agencies
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and target clear and concise message to the appropriate audience
  • Attention to detail, initiative, and the ability to perform in a fast paced and dynamic environment
  • Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint and able to easily adapt to new tool-sets

Preferred Education/Experience/Skills:
  • Experience working with the ISS Program Mission Integration & Operations Office, Research Integration Office, or International Partners
  • Experience working on the Increment Management Team and/or in the ISS Management Center (IMC)
  • Experience working with the Payloads Operations Integration Center (POIC)

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation

  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required

  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed
