ABOUT THE ROLE
The Supply and Demand Planning Analyst will be a key member of the Supply and Demand Planning team with the Supply Chain/Operations department. The Supply and Demand Planning analyst will be responsible for maintaining an optimized inventory position for an assigned portfolio of items across the distribution network. The analyst will have a strong level of understanding of all procurement processes, excellent communication skills, and the analytical expertise required to maintain our target service level fill rates. The ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced cross-functional team environment and will be able to juggle multiple responsibilities and tasks. The analyst will be reporting to the Manager, Supply and Demand Planning.
As a response to the pandemic, Roland Foods office employees have transitioned to a hybrid working schedule, requiring employees to report in-person Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to telework on Monday and Friday each week. Due to the collaborative, cross-functional nature of the organization, employees at the NY and NJ offices are required to work in person for the abovementioned days, outside of any People & Culture-approved disability accommodation request.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the management of relevant items and categories within our supply and demand planning software. Ensure optimal inventory levels at each warehouse and strategically plan orders to align with future forecasts
  • Monitor and improve forecast accuracy for demand and transit times to adapt quickly to the constantly changing market
  • Manage, track, resolve, and escalate any issues or opportunities for all stages of purchase and transfer orders: scheduled, confirmed, unconfirmed/unscheduled, past due, and post-delivery to ensure timely receipt of inventory
  • Develop Excel or BI reports and presentations for teams and Executives for everyday inventory management and tracking KPIs including cycle stock, safety stock, demand and time uncertainties, surplus/shortfall, inventory turns, fill rate improvement, backorder reduction, risk management, etc.
  • Support continuous improvement of departmental and individual KPIs (fill rate, surplus/shortfall inventory values, on time shipments, etc.)
  • Work with sales teams to scope our new business opportunities and incorporate them into demand planning, and work with category management to secure additional sourcing, align on product specifications, and meet other requirements
  • Manage and/or support ad-hoc projects utilizing Excel, Tableau, SQL (purchase order inbounding prioritization, sales orders fulfillment opportunities, customer spot buy requests, quality control inventory reports, intra-warehouse transfer tracking, unreturned orders, etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Required
  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management/Procurement or equivalent
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills; proficient in MS Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong data analytical skills - ability to research, identify requirements, gather, clean, analyze, and interpret data, and present findings insightfully
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred
  • Experience with MS Dynamics AX, Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP system
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with ability to lead and influence internal stakeholders
  • Strong skills with Database and Business Intelligence tools (Proficiency particularly in Access/SQL and Tableau a plus)
  • Experience in CPG or Food & Beverage is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, flexible, team environment
  • Cross-functional relationship building

SALARY RANGE
Roland Foods hires exceptional people to perform a wide variety of important functions that contribute to the success of the Company. One of the ways Roland Foods does that is through a competitive compensation package. The base salary for this role will be $75,000 - $85,000.
Based on your qualifications, previous experience, and transferrable skills, the Company will determine at its sole discretion, the salary offered.
