Job description

This role requires the ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Are you ready to lead and manage the Inside Plant Operations group, ensuring flawless execution in the reception and distribution of off-air, satellite, and digital transport programming? As a Senior Manager, ISP, you will implement consistent operating, configuration, and engineering standards using coaxial cable and fiber optic transmission technologies. You will oversee the installation, construction, operation, and repair of all equipment at Headend, COLO, OTN, and Hub locations. Additionally, you will guide long-range planning, manage day-to-day activities, and handle on-call rotations. You will also be responsible for the employee lifecycle, including performance management, and assist in capital and expense forecasting. 


How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Develop a strategic, disciplined, detailed and structured team and assist with developing their direct reports as to drive a high-performance culture and environment 
  • Lead a structured, consistent, and disciplined execution of ISP activities 
  • Oversee all cabling, equipment installation, power and cooling follows corporate TQA standards 
  • Lead efforts to ensure field compliance with corporate standards, as well as Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations 
  • Oversee training for technical personnel and evaluate effectiveness and gaps on an ongoing basis 
  • Work with managers to establish positive employee relations through promoting an environment of open and effective communication and ongoing support 
  • Oversee and participate in assembling capital budget needs 
  • Resolve issues as they are identified and escalate issues to senior management as needed 
  • Set priorities for managers and participate in the ongoing review of performance of staff 
  • Ensure all required logs, records and other documentation follow company and FCC technical requirements 
  • Oversee FCC Proof of Performance testing 
  • Adhere to industry specific local, state, and federal regulations, as applicable 
  • Compile reporting and metric analysis as requested by management 
  • Participate in special projects as needed or requested by senior management 
  • Know, understand, and follow all company policies and provide ongoing guidance to staff

What You’ll Bring to Spectrum

 
Required Qualifications

 
Education 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience 

Experience 

  • 10+ years engineering experience  
  • 4+ years management experience 
  • 3+ years project management experience 

Skills 

  • Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, customers, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner  
  • Ability to use personal computer and software applications  
  • Ability to use handheld communication devices and applications  
  • Ability to differentiate between different sizes and colors of wires  
  • Ability to make cable connections in tight spaces by bending, reaching, twisting  
  • Ability to work with small components and wires to make cable connections  
  • Ability to use the following hand tools: electric drills, hammers, wrenches, screwdrivers 
  • Ability to safely use weight-bearing equipment (such as ladders) within the maximum limitations of that equipment)  
  • Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices  
  • Ability to read general system layouts from blueprints and system maps  
  • Ability to operate appropriate computer or test equipment associated with position  
  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively  
  • Ability to work independently  
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics and electronics  
  • Demonstrated in-depth proficiency of designing, installing, and maintaining critical facility systems and service delivery equipment for all products  
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record within company required standard 

Preferred Qualifications 

Education 

  • Desirable: CCNA, CCDA

  • Ability to walk over all types of terrain in all kinds of weather while carrying tools and equipment, including ladders and fully loaded tool belts  
  • Ability to perform job from high places (roofs)  
  • Knowledge of company products and services  
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code and National Electric Safety Code In-depth understanding of and demonstrated ability to teach advanced video networking, IP networking and DOCSIS

The base pay for this position generally is between $110,800.00 and $196,400.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
