Job description

We are seeking a talented and detail-oriented Technical Illustrator to create, edit, and maintain detailed technical equipment illustrations for publications. The ideal candidate will utilize photographs, engineering drawings, existing illustrations, and physical inspections to produce high-quality visuals that adhere to Government specifications and standards. The role involves collaboration with a team on shared projects as well as independent work.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Create, edit, and maintain detailed technical illustrations using CAD software, adhering to Government-provided specifications and style sheets.
  • Develop illustrations from photographs, engineering drawings, existing illustrations, or physical inspections of equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively in a group setting or work independently on assigned tasks.
  • Provide a portfolio of relevant technical illustrations during the application process.
Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience creating technical illustrations in a professional environment.
  • Proficiency in CAD-based software such as AutoCAD or IsoDraw.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop for image manipulation.
  • Experience using GOTS and COTS software applications.
  • Strong ability to interface with clients, resolve graphical specifications, and address issues through problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of 3D CAD modeling.
  • Experience with software such as Corel Draw and Interactive Authoring and Display Software 4/5.
  • Proficiency in IsoDraw and AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with Corel Draw and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of interactive authoring tools and display software.
Physical and Mental Qualifications:
  • Be able to maintain awareness during scheduled working hours.
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at desk and working on a computer (mouse and keyboard)
  • Able to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; good command of the English language
  • Execute tasks independently and work as a team.
  • Learns and memories routine tasks.
